Skiing Alnestind

Sunday 11/6 I and Yngve woke up by the sun around 8 (luckily, the mountains provided shadow till then), and drove down to the river to make breakfast in nice surroundings. After eating lots of oatmeal and making some sandwiches for lunch, we drove through Åndalsnes and up Trollstigen, which is a spectacular old road that winds up in switchbacks for several hundred vertical meters. At the top of Trollstigen we parked the car and were able to put our skis on right from the start. Nice to be able to skip the hike with skis and boots on your pack!

We aimed for Alnestind, which was said to be a very good mountain for skiing. The weather was perfect, almost too warm - the snow got very wet, and there were lots of people around. Just two hours of hiking later we were at the summit, putting on more clothes for the ski down. From the peak we saw another mountain with just one track on it, which looked awesome. We decided to go there next time! The descent was very fun, but a bit to short, as usual..
