Incredible spam in comments of My Opera news

, ,

But… will anybody see it among dozens of stupid comments saying Owesummmmmmm, m new hre n so far i m likin it, best for me, hy all....:-E, Good Morning Africans Good Morning everybody, Arsenal for life, Hie everyone.!!! add me as a friend guys and even more exciting ones ? What makes people send such stupid comments?

Angry Birds, Google+ and Opera

, , ,

I've just tried to play Angry Birds game offered by Google+. Using Opera of course.

(BTW, the Facebook Link feature of My Opera does not work for me for couple of weeks. scared)

Opera Mail gets a new user interface?

, ,

It seems that I've switched to Opera Mail right on time. bigsmile

I'm an operamailer wink

, ,

After years of objection I finally switched to Opera Mail email client (well, I already used it at my office PC, where I send/receive few emails per week only).

The most important e-mail clients I used before were:
- Pegasus Mail.
- Mozilla Messenger - I've used it along with Netscape Browser, and after switching to Opera, it became the only Mozilla Suite component used on my PC.
- The Bat! - I've dropped it when I was forced to pay an upgrade fee just because of switching to a newer operating system not supported by my Bat version.
- Mozilla Thunderbird - after over 2 years of usage it just became unusable due to a very slow user interface interaction. Displaying a message after clicking it could take ages and this was the most frustrating part of the thunderbirdish experience.

Opera crashed while trying to show the crash dialog for a previous crash

, ,

I've just downloaded the Release Candidate 1 of Opera 11.50 and installed it on top of Opera 11.11. Well, Opera gave me even more experience than ever - all I could see when trying to launch it was this pretty message:

smile

More experience? Yes, definitely. I have never seen this dialog window before. p

(BTW, installation on top of previous Opera Next version was successful.)

UPDATE
This bug is fixed in Opera 11.5 RC 2.

UPDATE 2
And in Opera 11.50 final, of course!

10 years with Opera

, , ,

I've started using Opera as my primary browser when Opera 5.0 was released. And it was released on December 6th, 2000. Oh, I've missed the anniversary (I was sure it was December 10th). cry

Anyway, kudos to Opera staff, especially these ones, who made their best to addict me to Opera 5 ten years ago. cheers

Extensions

, ,

So we have the very first public version of Opera supporting extensions - Opera 11 Alpha. Well, as for now, „extensions” seem to be just a marketing term for an old and well known Opera feature called UserJS, peppered with some user interface and a download page, which make them easier to be found, installed and managed.

The same trendy way some other Opera features, like Opera Unite, Opera Widgets, Opera Link, Opera Mail (sic!) and Opera Turbo, are called Add-ons at opera.com.

Well, I'm still waiting for more. I hope there will be more, even though Opera is a complete browser for me.

Did you know?

, ,

Do you know that you may compose and publish your blog posts on My Opera using Windows Live Writer? I didn’t… This is my very first (and probably the last Puszczam oczko) post sent by this tool. I wonder how it will look like after posting (if it gets through). Uśmiech

I also tried to add My Opera to Writer’s „Tags providers”. Will it work?

Opera Extensions? Waiting for more…

, ,

I'm not impressed with extensions shown in this presentation. They look just like embedded widgets. Waiting for more… smile

Just bored with this stuff. Maybe more rainy and cold days will change it…
