So called Opera search engine manager

opera, English, Opsed, feature request

Opsed for Opera 9.10 and older is available
here.
Opera 9.20 introduced some significant changes to the way the search engines are handled. The old, good,
Opera Search.ini Editor (Opsed) is not able to modify the search engines used by Opera 9.20 and later. As
I said Opsed development was stopped over two years ago and I was not going to make the project alive anymore.
But…
I have received, and still receive, lots of positive and encouraging feedback from people, who find the current implementation of the editor available under
Tools > Preferences > Search too poor. Very poor. Users need some really basic functionality, like rearranging the search engines, grouping them by adding the separators, and deleting some "undeletable" ones. While the last of these requests may be unfeasible due to the possible agreements between Opera Software and the service providers, I can't understand why the other ones are still not implemented.
So… Take a look at the poll displayed in the right column of this blog and consider casting your vote.

Opsed is dead, but I'm considering developing something like "Opsed Mini", which will offer three features only: rearranging the search engines, adding the separators and deleting the "undeletable" search engines (after all I did not sign any agreements with Google nor Yahoo

).
If you have any other ideas (remember the project name: Opsed
Mini), feel free to post them as comments to this blog entry.
And no, this is not an
April fools joke.

But, of course, it would be much better to see these features in the Opera's built-in search engine manager. We could remove the "so called" part from the title of this blog entry then.

These features are "must have": rearrange, delete and adding separators.

If its a standalone portable application, that doesn't need installation, it'll be perfect.

Every time I do an update on opera, all my custom searches get ****ed & I have to try & remember how to fix... thats why I try not to update often.
Please, please make a good tool.
Thanks

definitely opera still need a way to rearrange search-engines without messing things up with ini files!

Christmas? :P
Well, maybe I'm too lazy to sit by my PC after all of these hours of coding at work. Or maybe I've decided to wait for Kestrel? ;)
My personal copy is ready, but it's definitely not ready to push it out.
As for now, please vote here: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=143983

You guys have probably all figured this out already, but here's how you can still use Opsed to organize your search bar (at least, this works for me):
1. Use Opsed to open the search.ini file in C:\Program Files\Opera\
2. Add and modify the searches as you'd like in Opsed.
3. Export the search settings as a search.ini file, using the Export function in the file menu.
4. Copy this saved search.ini file to C:\Program Files\Opera\ and C:\Documents and Settings\*UserName*\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile
5. Restart Opera; enjoy the freedom of search engine choice.
Copying it to both directories may not be necessary, but it works for me. Changing the settings with Opsed and just hitting save doesn't work anymore because Opera has changed the way it reads the search.ini files when starting up, from what I can tell.
Another note: this will probably mess up the custom searches you've made in Opera using the new way (right-clicking on a search box and hitting Create Search). These new searches are probably in the search.ini file in the profile folder, the one Opsed opens by default. I simply opened this file with a text editor and copied over the information into Opsed, adding the searches one at a time.
I hope this helps someone.

Mnie też tych możliwości brakuje, jestem maniakiem może, ale lubię mieć wszystko logicznie poukładane.
