Manchester United lose against Newcastle

Manchester United have lost at home against Newcastle thanks to the sole goal by Cabaye.

This defeat comes 3 days after the reigning champions lost at home again on Wednesday against Everton. The defeat is a nightmare for coach David Moyes as fans trooped out of the stadium with 5 minutes still to be played, something fans rarely did during the era of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Manchester United remain on nineth position, an unfamiliar position for the 20 time champions. The return of last season's top goal scorer in the premier league, Robin Van Persie did not change much to a team facing its greatest disappointing era in the last 2 decades. Van Persie did not get much possession of the ball as he was invisible in the second half of the match.

All three substitutes in the Everton game, Xavier Hernandez,Nani and Adnan Janujaz started for United and the trio were only effective in the first half creating a few chances. Hernandez looked dangerous upfront but still could not get the ball into the net. The defining moment for the Magpies came in the 61st minute when Evra made a slight error and allowed Sissoko to run in front of him to provide a low cross to a sprinting Cabaye who made no mistake to put the ball past a diving De Gea who did not have a chance.

Manchester United remain with 22 points after playing 15 games. Its clear Moyes is under lots of pressure and the big question is,will the Champions make a positive turn around and squeeze into the top four to access a Champions League ticket for next season.
