the events of today.....
This morning I woke up at 5:30. C was doing some kind of weird thing in bed, like when you fall asleep and then you jump awake,(or almost like he was kicking about every 3 mins) it kept wakin' me up, so I was just like, forget it, I am going to get up and get some work done.
I started the coffee and then went straight to the laundry room to do another load of clothes that accumulates every day, of coarse, I know that. After straightening up a bit, I sat down on the couch and beside the lamp I read my devotional book (like I do every morning) that Fatimah gave me. What a sweet soul of her to send me! It really has been a blessing and starts my day off so right. After that, I turned the tv to Lifetime and exercised with Denise Austin. It just gives me the energy that I need to get through the day and does make me feel so much more relaxed and calm.
By 6:30am the girls were starting to get up and they seemed so sleepy and tired. I am usually chipper by then so I am chanting, "Let's get ready for school, we are going to have a good day!" I am thinking that this early in the morning, they are not in the mood for 'chipper'.
Oh well.

My mother was supposed to come over for lunch but she didn't feel well.
So I made her a fall wreath and hung it by the front door to take to her later. I spent a good deal of time talking to a friend on the phone. T is having problems with my friend so I was trying to give her advise so that they can get along, once again. It is a waste of energy to argue with friends, very counter productive.
I do hope that they are getting along soon because they were really close and helped each other out sooo much. Meg brought the girls over this afternoon close to the time that the girls were coming home from school. So, while the cousins played, I started dinner. I made something that we don't have too often, fried chicken and beans and cornbread. This meal is not really healthy but we love it!
I coat the chicken legs in buttermilk and egg.......
Dip them in seasoned flour.......
Then fry them.......
I also made a chocolate cake.
Guess I was in the mood to cook because of the cold weather that we had today. Something about it getting chilly outside makes me want to cook, ummm who knows why.
I packed the girls up in the van and picked up C from work then dropped the wreath off to my mother and step father. They were so happy, they both have the kindest eyes ... I love them so much it makes me want to cry. I didn't stay long, just dropped it off while C and the kids waited in the van....then we headed home.
The cousins were still here so we fed them as well. The baby loved to eat real food, of coarse, I didn't give her fried chicken, but I did mash some beans up with rice and fed it too her with the cute little baby spoon. The whole time she was bouncing and waving her arms, she was so happy to be eating real food! Sweet girl!
Meg came to get her girls and after dinner I did the dishes and then came back here to write. The girls all had a bath and are determined to do their hair at almost 9 in the evening!
I am going to get them in bed, it is one hour past their bed time.
Goodnight,
Sarah

Its wonderful to have a full day much better than
an empty one wondering what will fill your time when you
get older and have an empty nest
Enjoy the moments they don't last forever.
Love
Fati
