Marine Corp Birthday

, , ,

Today is the Marine Corp is 231 years young. I am doing this post because my husband is a Marine, my brother and 2 of my cousins. One of my cousins just came back from serving in Iraq.

Dave inspired me to do this post, he is a former Marine and proud as a lot of you know. bigsmile

I personally think that most Marines are insane for joining voluntarily for one of the hardest jobs on the planet. My husband was actually a sniper, but I love the silent drill team. Video below.

Silent Drill Team

The only decent sniper video that I could find.

Kind of funny, when I was writing that the thought came to my mind that my husband would have something to say about me putting 'former' but if you knew me better, you would know that "once a Marine, always a Marine" only because they drilled that stuff into your brains at the tender ages of 18, poor guys.

It is really cool that you did a post to honor the marines.
When my dad was a young man...before he married my mom, he was a merchant marine in Holland.
And ya know? I think wanting to serve your country is in your blood at a young age...my son Josh, is 13 and looks as if he is heading that way. He just thrives in the cadet program they have here. I am not too sure how I feel about that right now. left God Bless your brother, cousins & hubby for aiding in keeping our nation..well yours & ours a free one! heart

Ivy, thanks for stopping by. smile

Cheryl, ty and that is very cool history to have in your family
about your father, so it must be in yours son's blood to be
thriving in the cadet program. yes

Thanks for the God Bless. smile
