Thanksgiving

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the United States of North America. (for all those that want to know bigsmile ) I am having family over tomorrow, my brother and sister-in-law, my sister and brother-in-law, my mother and father, little brother, and whoever else wants to show up. Of coarse we are cooking Tom the turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, rolls and maybe some other things. I know for sure that mom is bringing the ham and some pies and everyone is supposed to bring something with them.

My to-do list will consist of
1. cleaning the house
2. hanging curtains that I have been putting off hanging
3. cleaning some more
4. preparing turkey in brine recipe supplied here.
5. relax and enjoy the day with the kids because they are out of school for the next five days.

Be thankful everyday of the blessings that God has given us, even if you feel as if you are not blessed, have faith! I have to say, I am suffering from a pinched nerve in my back for over a month now and it has not put me in a really good mood. I went to church Sunday and it totally changed my perspective on everything! We are supposed to be thankful for everything that we are going through, because everything happens for a reason. We were born for a reason, we live for a reason, we make mistakes for a reason.......everything has it's purpose! I am sad that there are people that are alone and sick this holliday season, so I am so thankful that I am not alone and deathly ill. A pinched nerve is not going to stop me from being happy that I have my family around me and that they are all healthy!

I do miss my family that is far away from me this season. I have 3 brothers in Kansas that I have not seen in years, I have family in Dallas that I have not seen for too long. I pray that God blesses their holliday. love

Great post Sarah! Happy Thanksgiving! Hope God blesses your gathering tomorrow...and that everyone gets a chance to reflect on what they are truly thankful for. love
Even though we celebrated our Thanksgiving over a month ago, I had the bestest Thanksgiving gift EVER!!!(will be posting about it, maybe tomorrow)...
My brother..who lives on the other side of Canada...with his wife & my new nephew -who I have yet to meet,....until....TODAY!!!!! They totally suprised me today, just driving up my driveway...I cried when I ran out to greet them. I got to hold my nephew for so long...and omg..I was just so thrilled.
They are here for a little vacation..I am so excited...just wanted to share! heart

Lee,

Thanks so much, and the same to you! When I was working at the bus station, the owers of one of the cab companies handed out turkeys to all of his drivers, and those that help, like the bus station. But of course, this is a smaller town. Maybe they do the same for you? I could send you left overs, but I am not sure if they will be warm. smile You have a great day and God bless you and your family!

bigsmile

Wel, despite my wife and I being Australian, and despite Thanksgiving being an American tradition, we cook up a turkey (hindquarter) because we like the concept behind Thanksgiving.

In fact, it's just about ready now ... !

Enjoy the day!
