Here in N.Texas

Here in North Texas currently...we are having horrible, icy cold weather. On the way home from taking my husband to work, I noticed on the highway 3 different places where cars had skid off of the road from hitting the ice on the bridges. I have to cross 5 bridges going to and from his work and I noticed that there is still ice in places. The city has worked as hard as they can to coat the roads in a mixture of salt and sand to ease the thoughts of the drivers, but I don't understand why someone would approach a bridge going a high speed in ICY weather! They are committing an accident that was preventable if driving at a lower speed! sad So, most of the roads are clear.......except for the few icy bridges.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! bigsmile

Stay warm & safe!!
We are having a really nasty cold snap right now.
It is about -15 Farenheit...Peter said it was -28 celcius this morning when he got up.
It's a toughy when we have to water the animals..their ice buckets are frozen solid. It's a good thing they are in rubber buckets...I put it on the ground and smash at them with my feet to get the ice out. left
Anyhow..I am up for that beef stew. smile heart

People do have to be careful when they are driving in winter conditions. Some people just don't get it. Beef stew does sound great, save me some bigsmile

I saw that on the news and I thought about you. I remember the days... when I lived in Canada. Drive carefully, turn the wheels in the direction of the skid!!! and stay warm!!!

I know of what you speak Sarah. Yep. It's been miserable here in Orlando as well. On Monday and Tuesday, the temperature barely touched on 80 degrees. Today, we had to break out the heavy coats and sweaters when the same cold front that is hitting North Texas hit here in Orlando, dropping the highs for the day down to a practically unbearable 71 degrees! I'll probably head out to Sears tomorrow and price some snow tires and chains for the ol' golf cart. Winter in Orlando.

happy

Weird weather eh? In Vancouver we are having the winter they should be having back East. People here don't know how to drive on icy roads either.
