Crochet Baby Blanket, beginner

I need to put this in my blog to make sure I don't lose it. A project that I am working on
right now. After I master the easy projects, I will move onto the bigger ones.

TLC® "Baby Amore™", Art. E520 (5 ounce/224 yard solid; 4 ounce/179 yard multi ball): 7 ounces No. 9832 Light Blue CA and 7 ounces No. 9001 White CB.
Crochet Hook: 5.5 mm [US I-9].
Yarn needle.

Blanket measures approximately 31" wide x 36" long.
gauge
12 sts = 4"; 6 rows = 4" in pat.
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

CA, CB : Color A, B
ch : chain
dc : double crochet
lp : loop
mm : millimeters
pat : pattern
rep : repeat
st(s) : stitch(es)
tog : together
yo : yarn over
* or ** : repeat whatever follows the * or ** as indicated
[] : work directions in brackets the number of times specified
SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS
Dc2tog : [yo and draw up a lp in next st or ch, yo and draw through 2 lps] twice, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook

To Change Color in Dc: Yarn over and draw up a loop in the last st of the row, yarn over and draw through 2 lps, drop the color in use; with next color to be used, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook. Continue with new color.
With CA, ch 102.
Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc2tog, * dc in next 5 ch, [2 dc in next ch] twice, dc in next 5 ch **, [dc2tog] twice; rep from * to last 4 ch, end at **; dc2tog, dc in last 2 ch; turn - 100 sts.
Row 2: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next dc, dc2tog, * dc in next 5 dc, [2 dc in next dc] twice, dc in next 5 dc **, [dc2tog] twice; rep from * to last 4 sts, end at **; dc2tog, dc in next dc, dc in top of ch-3; turn.
Rep Row 2 for pat and work 1 more row with CA, then * 1 row CB, 1 row CA, 3 rows CB, 1 row CA, 1 row CB, 3 rows CA.
Rep the last 10 rows for color sequence until blanket measures approximately 36" from beginning. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Thanks for all of the fine information......however, I got so frustrated, I ended up letting the cats play with the yarn and used the hooky thingys to hold up a house plant.
