American Idol Antonella Barba

, ,

I am sure that most of you have read or heard on TV about the New Jersey girl from American Idol by the name of Antonella Barba. She is the one that had pictures circulating on the internet of her 'in the nude'. Friends and Family say that it is not her. Who actually cares if it is or not...people need to remember that everything you put/publish on the net can come back to haunt you.

Anyway, last week she was kicked off of the show. I didn't think that she was a terrible singer....just slightly above average.... she would have been kicked off pictures or no pictures because I think she was a little too pretty and perfect for everyone's taste. lol We need an American Idol that is a little rough around the edges, with stab wound scars and all. We need an American Idol that knows how to get into a girl fight and survive, one that has actually been 'poor'.

NOW those are the ones we love.

Anyway who really cares in the long run? Right?

Be careful watching this, it might hurt your ears a bit.

This is really one of Life's Lessons..........LMBOFinding a friend for Godfrey

Yes, for sure, we really need to remember that internet makes the world that much smaller!
I haven't really been following American Idol...this season. But I agree, that it would be nice to see someone like Jewel, get up there and win! smile heart

I saw some articles online about this latest American Idol scandal. I've only seen bits of this season. She would probably do better in another profession than singing. I love Jewel's music too and would be better to see somebody like her win this time smile

What is that saying though, that any press is good press. It gives them exposure and a foot in the door to a career. I didn't think she sang all that well, and now this extra news will just make her even more well known. But you're right about them wanting some picture perfect "virgin". I think they got that with Carrie Underwood.

I think there are some interesting singers this time around. I was really sad to see "Sundance" go. That was just wrong, he could sing. Personally, I really like Melinda...she's like another Aretha Franklin, she got some soul that girl. Hope she wins.

Gee, do I watch Idol too much? whistle

hm, I can't see that show and those girls, but here in Germany we have similar shows and I know, what's going on there. Sometimes it is horrible.

But I agree: I would prefer to hear a girl with a voice like Aretha Franklin or Anastacia.

Well, not much distinction is made these days between/among celebrity, infamy and notoriety. Some folks never recover from bad publicity (think of the Red Scare that plundered Hollywood back in the McCarthy days). On the other hand, some people weather bad publicity well and, indeed, flourish afterward, like Hugh Grant and Jerry Springer.

I think it depends on who you are. Politicians can't afford bad press; celebrities .. sometimes that's the entertainment. Now celebrity politicians .. well, who knows?

As for Ms. Barba, I think her singing leaves a lot to be desired. If she's offered a Playboy centerfold opportunity, she can make some money there. Maybe I'm just jealous because the likelihood of someone paying me to keep my clothes ON is greater.. ha!

lol

till u confessed, i thought suspiciously to myself...

"momsie has the time to watch American Idol?!?!?! hey, she must not be doing enough hsework!!! must tell pops about this... p"

Hi everyone, thanks for your POV. smile

Joni, you said,

Now celebrity politicians .. well, who knows?

Case in point, Arnold Schwarzenegger. He seems to be doing great
despite past energy crisis in California. Lucky bastard.

I don't like American Idol that much.

Unfortunately, copy cat nudity will surface for any popular young person. When a person goes into the world of show business, they can count on being shown. Scandals draw viewers - whether the picture is real or not. And viewers drive revenue.

I never see AI, but there are similar shows in China. In one instance, there was a couple performing and a strap broke - just at the right time. Oops, I did it again.

Thanks you Ms. Jackson, and Ms. Spears, you encouraged a trend! How creative of you!

True J, it's so annoying when people do things like that. I wish everyone could just keep their clothes on and get attention the old fashioned way- with their brains.

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Tuesday, March 13, 2007 4:57:13 PM

Thanks Jon for your comment, and too bad not everyone has as much brains. sad

Amy...is that really the old fashioned way of getting attention? lol Seems like taking off clothes is the old fashioned way. There needs to be a new way. smile
