sarah. i made a banner. not sure what to do next. i'm going to probably mess everything up if i don't leave my page in the default mode. but i'm going to go into that realm of customizing and just look around. i won't click on anything until i hear from you. i'm going to make a new photo album and upload the image. as a jpg. not even sure what size to make it but i read my view (source) and it looks like it exists as 115 by 21 is that pixels?

i made some others but not so sure about them. it's fun making banners. if i just new a simple way to change them without messing up my settings...

Scott,
The banner has to measure 920px wide and at least 150px high. Uhm, make a new one with those measurements and upload it to the photo album.

Oh, that is niiiice. Ok....now this is what you will do
Click on "my account"
click "change design"
choose a theme..something plain, such as black or white. (I personally think that either would look fine.)

add then click "custom style sheet"

#top2 {
height:200px;
padding-left:15px;
background:url(http://files.myopera.com/I_ArtMan/albums/349417/1scott_soho_studio_1964.jpg) top left no-repeat;
border-top:1px solid #000;
}

Copy this code above and paste it into the box that says "enter css"
scroll down and chose the option "Use my custom style sheet together with the current theme"
click 'save' and then go view your page to see the banner.

Now as for the background and other colors...that is separate codes.

i tried three times. even uploaded the banner jpg again to files.
then found it's address, pasted it in and nothing but black. i know i did exactly what you said. maybe it's in the spacing? i used the exact spacing you gave... copied and pasted it.

There was a suggestion in the comments of that post that people could create their own categories over in the forums ...

(I voted yesterday, but only in one particular category. But it was a difficult decision. And isn't it curious how there's two specific people directly above this comment who were factored in there, somewhere ... ?)

David, sorry,I was being funny when I said that. Some of the voting was a bit difficult, but I know what I like.

Some of the good folks that are in this post directly were voted for.

I do hope they make it...some deserve great attention.
