So…I was in the bathroom straightening my ‘permed’ hair and I was thinking about an email that a good online friend of mine wrote me. She lives less than an hour from me, yet we have never met in person, as yet. I think we are going to meet and have a drink soon. (let’s plan it Nita!) Anyway she and a few others have asked about ‘what to blog about.’ I supposed that people in general should blog about whatever they want to…family life, music, poems, stories, a special subject such as their favorite celebrity… if that is what they want to write about.

I have to admit, blogging takes time and patience. It is not a simple task to take the time out of their busy life and sit down and write a complete journal entry about what is going on in their mind. Actually I think that writing is a God given gift…or just the ‘need’ to write. People learn and are stimulated in many different ways; some people are more prone to expressing their feeling in creating pictures, some are drawn to reading a long drawn out explanation or writing their own, others are musically inclined. I am interested in all aspects of art and creating so my blog is an eclectic mix of many different things. Painting, knitting, poems, ranting and music are things that I currently blog about. Current events interest me as well, but usually discuss those things by talking about them with my husband..lol.

I find that sometimes my blogging is a little selfish. I feel that I have to be selfish in my blog because in my everyday life it is about everything besides myself. It is about taking care of the home, the kids and the husband. I am not the type of person that likes to shop for new clothes or jazzy new shoes to fulfill my ‘me time’. I don’t go to a tanning bed, I don’t have my nails done every two weeks…I blog. Pathetic isn’t it? But as I look back and look forward on my life I see that I am doing exactly what I intended to as a child. Believe it or not, it was always a dream of mine to have 4 girls in the house. It reminds me of the book ‘Little Women’ that I loved so much or the T.V. series ‘Little House on the Prairie.” I always craved to be as nice, loving and understanding as ‘ma’ or ‘Caroline’ on Little House on the Prairie. I am not living on a prairie ‘technically’ but I am close to a prairie and there is a actual horse stable less than a mile from me.

*pause I hear my cell phone beeping…2 missed calls from the school. They caught me on the home phone because my little one was sick today! She seemed okay when she got home. *I dunno.

Anyway..I guess my whole point is that you should blog about whatever is in your heart. Don’t try to be like others…being different is what people will love about you! If you want not to be known then make all your entries private! And if you want feed back, go out in search of blogs that you feel you have similar interest with and begin contact with those folks.

Good luck in blogging all….I think it is the going to become more and more popular as the years progress in technology. Soon you will be able to type your best friend’s name in a google search to find out what they are doing right at that moment. Oh yeah..that is what Twitter is for.
