Keep your mind wide open

, , , ,

Over the weekend I watched the movie "Bridge to Terabithia" 2 times and I have it on now! I love it because it reminds me of my own wild imagination while I was a child. If you haven't seen the movie, I highly suggest it or you can find the audio book on the website under 'downloads'. The movie encourages keeping your mind open to dreaming and with that anything is possible.

On another note...have you noticed that when someone hurts you and you don't tell them right away..feelings can build and become out of control? Others can confront you with some small issue but yet you feel as if the roof of feelings that you have can not hold another load. Not without breaking in some or many parts...or collapse completely?

If you are feeling hurt by a loved one or someone that is close to you, don't for a second hold onto this pain but instead let them know how you are feeling and try to talk it out so that your roof does not cave in. smile Even if you are afraid of their reaction...it is better than making your self sick with worry.

On another note.....

I agree, it's better to "get things off your chest" than to bottle them up inside. The only person you hurt then is yourself. It's much better to get it out and talk things over with the other person, very good advise indeed up

Nice video, I was waiting for the car to crash with a smart ass comment about a video game not costing 50k to fix or something like that. devil

very cool new profile picture sarah... sultry to say the least.

you may be right. "If you are feeling hurt by a loved one or someone that is close to you, don't for a second hold onto this pain but instead let them know how you are feeling and try to talk it out so that your roof does not cave in. "

in most cases but you have to be ready for that flack which comes from speaking up.
my daughter answered an email where i complained about being ignored lately. she said, "noone has ever said anything that harsh to me."

i didn't even say it harshly, it was just dying to come out of me that i felt exiled and abandoned by three out of four children.

so then i had to apologize. but it worked. she's more communicative now. and i feel better.

I'm sure this won't come as much of a surprise to you, but I don't have too much of a problem getting things off of my chest. Only when it comes to certain people...then I let things build up until I feel like my head is going to explode all over the place. rolleyes I have no idea why some people have this effect on me and others don't. *shrug*

Why am I suddenly craving cottage cheese...and I don't even like cottage cheese? bigeyes

LC, when I was watching it I half expected that same thing...lol. He was not completely in control of the car at times I noticed. What a noob. lol

Scott, o thanks!
I am sorry to hear about you feeling abandoned by your children. My mother has complained saying the same thing about us....there are 6 of us and 3 for sure I know don't keep in close contact with her. It breaks her heart more than anything from what I can understand.
Kids have to realize that just because they grow up and move out doesn't mean that they have to stay completely out of their parents lives! It's like, "Ok kid, I get it, you have a life! Now share it with me!" Yes I understand! I am already feeling a little bit of this just by having a teen who is busy with friends and other activities. sad Sometimes I miss her when she stays gone all weekend doing things...even if it is with the church...it still hurts a bit. Thanks for 'voicing' your opinion and that is wonderful that you can write your children and tell them how you feel. That in itself is a huge step.

Karen, I am the same way..most of the time. But if it is someone who is particularly close then I do get a sad burning ache to even think about confronting them! I don't want to hurt them...also I don't want to let it go on.

On to other things...cottage cheese. How can you not like cottage cheese? And why were you craving it? Now I am curious..I happen to love cottage cheese especially on a salad or just plain with a side of tomato. When I read that I really laughed out loud, that was hilarious!!!

lol

KarenNerak Wednesday, October 3, 2007 2:39:58 PM

lol You silly goose! Cottage cheese was in reference to the third set of "Lovely Lady" pictures! lol

Lonnie loves cottage cheese, too. (Not the thigh kind...the dairy kind.) He puts it on everything! I can't stand the stuff, myself...as you already know. It's all lumpy and bumpy and...and...ewww! No can do. down

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Wednesday, October 3, 2007 5:35:46 PM

lol Ok! doh I am a little slow today, been up since very early! Ok lol @ lumpy and bumpy...lol

KarenNerak Wednesday, October 3, 2007 5:46:12 PM

"Bridge to Terabithia". Was to see it about a month or two, but something happened. Something stupid - like, it was raining and the bus didn't come.
However, I will try and see the movie in the near future. Now I'm certain I will.

On another note...have you noticed that when someone hurts you and you don't tell them right away..feelings can build and become out of control?

Well, yeah, I do bottle my feelings up. However, it's a noble thing to do, sometimes. Well, if somebody hurt me and I react right away, the reaction is usually too strong and I, well, kinda, try to, by reacting, hurt that person even more! Plus, remaining quiet, I simply try to find a good excuse for the person that hurts me... And, if it takes long enough, I can forget the whole thing.
Which is not always good.

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Wednesday, October 3, 2007 6:45:13 PM

Hey ya, I have missed you! irked Well anyway unless you unchecked the box at the bottom then hopefully you will read this...
Sorry you missed the movie, maybe you can see it on DVD or something. I believe that in different cultures things are handled differently so yeah I can see some keeping their feelings to them self unless asked. No big deal. I guess I was just trying to give a little advice of my own experience. smile Yes..never forget..sometimes it aids in your reaction in the future to the person that hurt you.

Bojanrolling_thunder Wednesday, October 3, 2007 7:23:35 PM

No, I haven't unchecked the box... And no, my culture is not that exotic - It's just me x))
Gonna try and find a dvd or something... The movie seems very interesting.
And... This time I'll be around MyO for quite a long time. Or, at least, gonna try to.

KarenNerak Wednesday, October 3, 2007 7:31:12 PM

Hey Sarah - did you cry while watching the movie? I did...more like bawled! cry The special effects were lacking, but the story was awesome. I quite enjoyed it...although I cried my eyes out.

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Wednesday, October 3, 2007 7:40:45 PM

Bojan,
Ok will see ya in the future! happy

I dunno, I'd be a lot less worried about crashing a video game.
