Last Day of School for Girls......and Summer Begins!

, , , , , , ,

[/IMG]In a few hours my girls will begin their last day of school before the summer! I know that they are excited about it and ready to begin the long lazy days of summer. Now I, for one, am really excited about beginning summer of 2008. The kids will have day camps, play dates, swimming, skating, bowling, mall, lazy days and sleeping late. It is such a nice change from the everyday grind of getting up early for school! Dealing with 50 gah-jillion different teachers through the school year is very difficult. Especially when you have girls like I do. Well, two of them at least are outspoken and natural born leaders. So of course the teachers have a love/hate relationship with the them. lol Oh well! So yeah...this is a *awww* deep breath moment!

Mmmm #1 did good in school. She passed with FLYING colors as usual. Still happy, but devastated that she can't find the skirt she picked out to wear on the last day. sad
#2 seemed to be more interested in what boys thought than what we thought. rolleyes Off to grammies!
#3 was just glad to see "6" on her report card. As in SHE is going to the 6th grade! lol
#4 doesn't care either way and is just happy to be completely finished with 2nd grade, the
little toot!! Off to grammies as well!

Since 1 and 2 fight and 3 and 4 fight, I like to try to send 'em off for the summer. But 1 will also fight with 4. Come to think of it, 4 will fight with any of them, and 3 as well. Ummm. 1 tries to let them all roll off her back. But 2 bothers 1 more than the others. Mmm might be a little jealousy there. Yeah.

I worked really hard on my disabled brother's apartment (flat) today. faint It is ready for him to come back home to. Sparkling clean and smelling fresh! PLUS he is getting a new bed, finally, so I know he will be ecstatic about that, especially because he loves to sleep. zzz For 2 weeks I have been going over there while he was in the hospital, feeding the cats and cleaning the cat box. Which got me to thinking, there has to be a better way to deal with cat crap. yuck I just HATE cleaning the litter box. The cats, Lady Boots and (forgot the name), are messy little poopers as well!

After I worked on the apartment for 6 hours, I came home and was inspired to change the living room around. I moved a few things and I love it for now! Who else gets the itch to move things? bigsmile Well, after sweating all day I was overly ready for a nice steamy hot shower and clean clothes. BEST part of the day, besides my yummy salad I had for dinner. The rest of the family had pork chops and salad. I tasted them, and I just wasn't up to it!

I was just 'watching' "My First Home" on Discovery Home Channel. It makes me want to go house searching. sad

Love ya people!

You certainly had a full day! It was really sweet of you to go over and clean your brother's place. I'm sure he'll appreciate it very much.

As for the kids...faint I have said it before and I will say it again, I admire your gumption! I'm looking forward to summer vacation as well, but I don't think I deserve it nearly as much as you do. I only have 2...you have 4! yikes

I, too, get the urge to move furniture around. It's a good way to make the place feel more fresh and new. The same old thing all the time gets dull.

I'm off to bed...finally! G'night! Love ya'! heart

I loved the automatic cat box cleaner idea, had one but it could be improved upon. My cat loved it. Too bad it didn't work so good. It was cheap at Walmart.

We had cats and dogs when I was a kid. Never had no litter box though. left .
Don't have any idea where the cats 'went' but it never needed us to clean up after. confused

My idea of raising kids, is ship them somewhere until they turn 18, which explains why I do not have kids. Have a great summer with them!!!

This is my first summer as a Big Brother's volunteer. We are going fishing this week but I know he wants to go to the water park some time. We also get to discuss his slightly improved grade card and the fact he made it to the fourth grade. Since I work weird hours on the weekend, summer will give is great time during the week to spend having fun.

Ooo I am excited to hear that you are a big brother. I think that is the most unselfish thing that someone can do, and that is to give their free time to a child that needs it. This child may or may not have a loving father/mother in their life and you may make an long lasting and life changing impact on them. It's amazing. up happy

thanks Sarah, it is a great organization and I feel I am doing so much more than had I just mailed a check. I was even the guest speaker with my little brother at their last board meeting. I wish more men would get involved with that in this area we have about 40 on the waiting list.

sounds like you are seriously involved with this program and your right, they need many more volunteers. It would make so many dreams come true I am sure!
