CoQ10 and the stuff kids say...

I was shopping with my daughter and had to share her amazing child wisdom. Now, I really mean wisdom here. One of the first places that I head to in a store is the health and beauty section because I am always interested in what new vitamins are out and my daughter and I love to browse the makeup section. I was checking out the vitamins while waiting for the blood pressure machine to become free and chatting with my girl.
“Oh my God, look at the price of these! The CoQ10 was about 2 dollars cheaper last time I bought it!” I picked up the CoQ10 bottle and examined it carefully; turning it around, flipping it upside down to see if anything new has been added to it. Puzzled, I started comparison shopping by making a mental note of the amount of vitamins in the bottles and asking myself if it is a better deal to buy in bulk and pay more or go for the one month supply.
I came to the conclusion that I would pass up the CoQ10 entirely this time and opt out for a 50 cent health bar. Hey, I was hungry and needed a cheap fix.
My beautiful daughter Rachael was carefully watching me as usual and said,
"THEY found out that it is good for you so they raised the prices." I didn't think anything of what she stated until about 4 this morning when I was awake and taking a shower. I was looking at myself in the mirror after my shower, trying to figure out why I look younger than your average 33 year old. I concluded that it is because of good genes all the vitamins that I consume and a gentle lifestyle. But the truth is, I smoked up until January of this year. So, where are my smoking lines that affect most of my girlfriends? Must have been the CoQ10.
I won't dwell on that, my focus is on what Rachael stated. I believe there is some truth to what she says. Why is it that fresh fruit and veggies are so much more expensive in the market than a bag of potato crisps? Why is fish three times the amount of beef? I understand that I am in 'beef' country, but that doesn't make it good for me and my family OR make it right.
Understanding how truly lazy people are now, and how 'busy' they are, I have noticed why WOULD they want to cook a fresh potato? In my opinion I think that they would rather pop open a huge bag of greasy potato crisps and enjoy! I know that is how it has been for us before 3 years ago.
Not only is peeling your own potatoes healthier for you, but also you are saving your veins from some of the transfat that might invade them. Speaking of transfat, I want transfat out of my coffee creamer!!!!! That is just sick to me, but I am so addicted that I drink it at any cost. I think I will email Coffee-Mate right now.
Oh no....I am now signing up for their offers.
I am doomed.

like my old friend told me once "take care of yourself; if you don't, nobody else will."
all prices seem to be going up and up. i've been making a lemonade with six lemons, fresh ginger, 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a third of a cup of maple syrup. (very good for anyone), but yesterday i did a little shopping and i just couldn't make myself pay $1.79 each for medium sized lemons. i guess i'll have to switch to the juicer for a daily dose of fruit. apples are in season. and grapes are great for the juicer.
