All I Need is Love, but a Fluffy White Donut Wouldn't Hurt Either

Yesterday my husband went 200 miles out of town to find work. There just anything here that would fit his pay range! I mean, there are jobs alright, but paying one third of what he makes right now. We are living off of his unemployment and government assistance. I don't consider MY FAMILY the failure, I consider big businesses the failure!
If it wasn't for big business making terrible decisions then we wouldn't be in this predicament right now. My family around me is in no position to help us, either. They are also struggling to pay bills and keep food in the house. It has never been easy raising 4 girls but this time is different. When you are accustomed to a certain lifestyle then the slightest change can really hurt.
So, my best life is lived just here on the net. I play FarmTown and Yoville in Facebook and it is a life that I wish I could live. Games are games. A pathetic comparison to real life. These 'real life' games are not real life at all. They are fantasy. There might as well be zombies and vampires running around on the farm.
On an upside about the economy. It is teaching us to be even more frugal than we were before. We are actually eating healthier and in smaller portions.
Too bad my body likes it's fat.
I talked to my husband's ex boss yesterday. He was encouraging us to stay here because he is getting into another business that he wants my husband to join him in. Let's hope it happens soon! *fingers crossed*
Oh! I totally forgot...I have decided to cut the carbs way out of my diet. Wellllllllll this morning I was making my coffee and saw some of those little powdered donuts on the counter. I picked up one, nonchalantly, and chewed it. Mmm sort of thickish. Sort of powdery. Sort of...ewww. What is that layer of slime it is leaving on the roof of my mouth? It felt like I had taken shortening straight from the can and licked it like icing.
I didn't even bother reading the package from fear of knowing the truth.
Despite the stickiness, I pinched another bit and put it in my mouth. The sugar was calling my name. I fell under the weakness of the fluffy little powdered donut.
Someone asked me about my knitting yesterday. I just realized, I have totally abandoned that hobby. Maybe I will take it back up when I am 70. Right now I have to concentrate on other things, like cutting carbs.

You took the words right off my little fingers. I was thinking the same thing. He stopped by the vet offices while in OKC yesterday. They told him to look online.

Those little donuts are evil. They call out to people! That's why I never buy 'em...I can't resist!

But at least he would not have to move.

All donuts are delicious, sugary, carb-filled, bits of heaven....
