The New Place

, , ,

Hi Everyone,

I hope that everything is fine and dandy with you guys. I am sitting here after a long and sweltering day in Texas. It was so hot and humid today that I just wanted to stay in all day. I didn't have that choice, we had to get a part for the van. (air conditioning belt of all things) Also, we had to take my youngest to Cheer-leading practice as usual. She is becoming a great cheerleader. None of the older 3 ever showed any interest in cheering, so this is a refreshing change. smile

So...it seems we are well settled in our place. I have really had to force myself to get used to all the extra noise. Any of you apartment dwellers know well about that, I am sure. Going from practically living in the country to a busy setting like this is ...well blah at best. But I have a great positive attitude about it and plan on looking forward to making new friends. wink

Speaking of...when the hubby was on putting the belt on the engine, one guy approached and started to help. Then another...then another! It was so cool to see complete strangers come and help him. smile They didn't have the tools to help, but they did have their hands and experience. yes

Sad thing...he needs ONE certain tool to finish the job. I am sure you guys know how much it sucks to start a job and not be able to finish it. So he will be looking again tomorrow morning for that 'certain tool'. Good luck!

One of my best friends on the net...Karen...is in the process of moving. I wish you the best, bestie. I know how hard and stressful it is to move. Especially when you are scaling down in size of what you are used to. I sound really spoiled saying that, but it really isn't about being spoiled. I guess. I think it is more of a matter of being comfortable and your kids being comfortable.

Here are some shots of the place!

The pool area...

A little place to BBQ and picnic.
[/IMG]

Awesome playground, especially for little ones. wink

Another shot of the playground with the beach volleyball and gazebo in the background. Need to get more pics.
[/IMG]

Anyway, it's been fun and different and I just love the workout room. wink I really wanted to share that with you guys but didn't want to appear as some creep going around shooting pictures. scared

It looks quite nice! Great to have a pool and gym right there.

Very nice up

It looks a lot like the place we are members of that has apartments, gym, pool, and a golf course.

Looks like a great place and sounds like you have some nice neighbors!

No more swimmin in the creek! Yeah!
Looks like this will be day 52 of 100+ degrees in Texas.

Thanks everyone...it's so much better for the kids than the neighborhood we were in.... Lots of opportunities to get out and stretch their legs and play and do different things. smile

Cleanclean Tuesday, August 11, 2009 11:25:15 PM

Wow. That looks perfectly horrible. All those amenities. So close. wink lol

You'll get used to the noise surprisingly quickly. I used to live in an apartment (set of units, they're called over here). Aside from the old lady in the unit below us having conversations with the people on Days of Our Lives, it was pretty quiet. lol Now we live quite near a road (the bedroom is about five metres from it). But we're used to it ... faint lol

Sorry...but what? I have 4 kids and I am married...not single. So no...that doesn't fit...

Francis Machariafmacharia29 Wednesday, August 12, 2009 12:50:02 PM

You mean married people with 4 kids don't drink beer and have sex? If thats the case,am not getting married!

cute avatar smile Oh I remember apartment life! Nice pool area and I know what you mean about not wanting to take pictures of the gym, that was funny lol

Yep, like the others say, you get used to the noise. I think Texas has about the humidity we do here too. I don't even feel bad for wanting to stay in during the summer, eek

Ya got me there. Yeah we do...party like a rock star. Ya know? It's all about the party...and if the kids are going to drink and smoke...they are going to do it at home damn it!!

Pineas2 Friday, August 14, 2009 6:20:06 PM

Oh, you have also read the Kate Moss-family digest. Smoke pot before the kids and take care that they do not steal it from you.

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Saturday, August 15, 2009 12:32:34 AM

We don't do that crap but we do drink...I am not anti pot...it's just not something that we do.

I love the pool area!!!! up up up

KarenNerak Monday, August 17, 2009 7:26:47 AM

I'm happy that you're all settled and doing your best to see the brighter side of things. smile

The odd thing for me is that I'm realizing I like living in this new apartment way more than the big house. I NEVER would've thought I'd like an apartment more than a house, but I guess it just depends on the house, apartment, and situation. bigsmile

Anyway, don't you think it's kinda trippy how we both moved from a house to an apartment in such a short span of time?! bigeyes

Thanks Olga heart Soooo do I!

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Monday, August 17, 2009 7:37:18 PM

Karen, yeah that is strange if you really think about it. How many bedrooms does it have? Did you guys fit all your stuff good? Did you get rid of things? I have a ton of questions. LOL So yeah...hopefully we can talk sooner than later chica.

It's three bedrooms...my Mom is sleeping on an air mattress until she gets her own place...which will hopefully be ASAFP!!! We have to keep our dining room set in our garage so that Lonnie's big-ass desk will fit in the dining room. There's no room anywhere else for it.

Other than that, everything fits perfectly fine. We hardly got rid of anything. lol I mean - lots of papers and other garbage, but we didn't get rid of any big items or anything. Thank God for the free garage!!! yes

I'll do my best to get some pictures taken today. Being the moron I am, I accidentally charged the wrong batteries. rolleyes

I hope we can talk soon, too. I miss my Cupcake so much! cry

love
