The New Place

Hi Everyone,
I hope that everything is fine and dandy with you guys. I am sitting here after a long and sweltering day in Texas. It was so hot and humid today that I just wanted to stay in all day. I didn't have that choice, we had to get a part for the van. (air conditioning belt of all things) Also, we had to take my youngest to Cheer-leading practice as usual. She is becoming a great cheerleader. None of the older 3 ever showed any interest in cheering, so this is a refreshing change.
So...it seems we are well settled in our place. I have really had to force myself to get used to all the extra noise. Any of you apartment dwellers know well about that, I am sure. Going from practically living in the country to a busy setting like this is ...well blah at best. But I have a great positive attitude about it and plan on looking forward to making new friends.
Speaking of...when the hubby was on putting the belt on the engine, one guy approached and started to help. Then another...then another! It was so cool to see complete strangers come and help him.
They didn't have the tools to help, but they did have their hands and experience.
Sad thing...he needs ONE certain tool to finish the job. I am sure you guys know how much it sucks to start a job and not be able to finish it. So he will be looking again tomorrow morning for that 'certain tool'. Good luck!
One of my best friends on the net...Karen...is in the process of moving. I wish you the best, bestie. I know how hard and stressful it is to move. Especially when you are scaling down in size of what you are used to. I sound really spoiled saying that, but it really isn't about being spoiled. I guess. I think it is more of a matter of being comfortable and your kids being comfortable.
Here are some shots of the place!
The pool area...

A little place to BBQ and picnic.
[/IMG]
Awesome playground, especially for little ones.

Another shot of the playground with the beach volleyball and gazebo in the background. Need to get more pics.

Anyway, it's been fun and different and I just love the workout room.
I really wanted to share that with you guys but didn't want to appear as some creep going around shooting pictures.

It looks a lot like the place we are members of that has apartments, gym, pool, and a golf course.

Looks like this will be day 52 of 100+ degrees in Texas.

You'll get used to the noise surprisingly quickly. I used to live in an apartment (set of units, they're called over here). Aside from the old lady in the unit below us having conversations with the people on Days of Our Lives, it was pretty quiet.

Yep, like the others say, you get used to the noise. I think Texas has about the humidity we do here too. I don't even feel bad for wanting to stay in during the summer, eek

The odd thing for me is that I'm realizing I like living in this new apartment way more than the big house. I NEVER would've thought I'd like an apartment more than a house, but I guess it just depends on the house, apartment, and situation.
Anyway, don't you think it's kinda trippy how we both moved from a house to an apartment in such a short span of time?!

Other than that, everything fits perfectly fine. We hardly got rid of anything.
I'll do my best to get some pictures taken today. Being the moron I am, I accidentally charged the wrong batteries.
I hope we can talk soon, too. I miss my Cupcake so much!
