Dakota wrote me this morning informing me that we lost our good Opera friend, Esther.

She was particularly special to us because of all her witty, fun and sometimes drunken comments that she would sprinkle around the Opera Community. In all seriousness, Esther was caring, sweet, fun and basically a sweet Angel to everyone that she would make friends with here. I talked to Esther quite often and we even wrote each other via snail mail a couple of times. She was kind enough to send a gift around Christmas time in 2007....I thought about her this summer when going through old mail and saw her letter...her handwriting was so perfect... Please visit her blog to know more about her. Her whole life is on there....her whole entire life except for her Beau who she was keeping private.

Sweet Angel, we will miss you.

Esther loved her dog BB who she lost almost a year and a half ago.

She REALLY loved that dog.

I am sure they are together now....forever.

Esther and her mother...she spoke often of her mother in her blog and we know she loved her deeply.

I didn't know her, but saw her around here and there. She died in a house fire? How terrible.

I didn't really know her, either...but I could tell she was a real sweety.

I looked at her blog as well and couldn't access it either. Strangely it said she was online.

It looked like a neat Blog, I'd never noticed her before. I loved all the pics of her dog BB.

Lindsay, I saw that as well...I don't know what is going on there, but I know her mother has access to it...wonder if she is on there going through everything since Carol is in contact with her? I have no clue!

I saw Mik trying to talk Carol into making Esther's blog private & whatnot so that no spammers could get a hold of it.

I understand his point of view, but I'd still love to be able to visit her blog.

Carol's in contact with Esther's mother, so maybe that's what happened? :shrug:

Karen, I read that as well and I am not down with that either. It just isn't right...I think people should see WHAT she did in life and this blog should be a tribute to HER! But of course all hell would break loose if I were to talk about what should be done. I am going to hope and pray that her mother makes the right decision.

I totally know what you mean, Cupcake. I really hope her Mom will make it public as well. She can moderate it for spam.

Besides, I rarely get spammed anymore. Opera's pretty good about banning people quickly.

...from the first day in 2006 we were screaming at each other

Once we were on a blog we took it over

fighting back & forth on peoples blogs we hardly knew

..I believe the user ClassicAutumn got that treatment... but she didn't mind

that user is now my good friend

I'm glad our antics made some of you smile. All those funny post & crazy comments... that's the Esther we know & love.
