just making sure you are still alive

If anyone knows me, I find gestures like this, incredibly sweet. Short, small and to the point. Someone cared enough to want to know if I am 'still alive' lol. Yes, I am. See? I'm writing! Thank you for caring. o

confused

maddysman2003 Wednesday, September 30, 2009 2:06:48 PM

see that won't work for me, I have already hired a ghost writer. He will carry on my blog for years after I finish.

KarenNerak Wednesday, September 30, 2009 3:13:07 PM

Yeah, but if they only came to your blog, they'd know you're alive and kickin'!

Either way, I see what you're saying...very sweet gesture. bigsmile

Mrs. HermitessHermitess Wednesday, September 30, 2009 7:21:02 PM

Kind smile

I hate it when strangers send a message that says only "hi"
irked What am I supposed to say to that?

KarenNerak Wednesday, September 30, 2009 7:23:47 PM

Here's what I say to that: "Fuck off! bigsmile "

Mrs. HermitessHermitess Wednesday, September 30, 2009 7:31:01 PM

lol lol Fuck off Toby! wink

Janine garafolo, I love her. She is the angry voice in my head!! bigsmile

KarenNerak Wednesday, September 30, 2009 8:10:05 PM

lol I like her a lot, myself. She's freakin' hysterical.

pssst I was serious, though. I really do tell them to fuck off! lol Sometimes my inner demon shows itself. It's kinda mean. left

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Wednesday, September 30, 2009 8:34:45 PM

lol

KarenNerak Wednesday, September 30, 2009 9:17:25 PM

Cupcake, you know I was serious! p You've seen my mean streak before! whistle

Then, I've seen yours, too. Rawr! o

Mrs. HermitessHermitess Thursday, October 1, 2009 5:01:05 AM

sherlock I'm too polite I guess, although I've been known to rawr on occassion. p

KarenNerak Thursday, October 1, 2009 3:12:37 PM

I'm generally a very polite person, myself. I simply cannot stand certain things...and I make it known. lol

Mrs. HermitessHermitess Thursday, October 1, 2009 8:53:24 PM

You stand up for yourself up that's awesome! I need to do that a little more I think. My MIL said recently that we have to be bitches every now and then and she'd teach me how. lol ooook if you say so MIL! p

KarenNerak Saturday, October 3, 2009 12:40:13 AM

I hear ya'. I'm good with standing up for myself online, but in 'real life'? lol Not even close! I won't even return food in a restaurant. I'd rather just eat whatever they brought me & however it's prepared. rolleyes

I actually need a t-shirt that says "Door Mat" on it. p

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Sunday, October 4, 2009 1:45:23 PM

L, your mother in law is my kinda lady! But I really think with women, actions speak louder than words. Sometimes you just have to do exactly what you are thinking you want to do.

Karen mentioned the food in a restaurant, if you were not happy with it, politely tell the waiter that it taste like shit run through a washer. smile It's ok to ask to talk to a manager, complain and get something else. It's ok! No one is going to hate you for it, Biscuit. smile

TabTabmartel Monday, October 5, 2009 12:35:56 AM

Mmm shit run through a washer....haha

I would probably grimace and swallow whatever crap was served to me too Karen..

Very sweet and thoughtful gesture. You know you are apprecited.

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Monday, October 5, 2009 1:08:24 PM

I am not always outspoken..there are times when I really should have spoken up, and I didn't...Those times bother me so much, that I try to 'fix' it the next time by not allowing others to run over me. Oh wow...it really can get you in a mess, though, if you are not careful. zip

TabTabmartel Monday, October 5, 2009 2:25:42 PM

I'm sure it could.

I'm on the bus headed to Mugs' place and this big smelly dude just sat beside me. I feel like asking him if he's ever heard of pit stick...ug.

Why do the people who sit beside me always have to stink?

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Monday, October 5, 2009 3:17:04 PM

Start carrying a small bottle of room spray.

TabTabmartel Monday, October 5, 2009 3:56:43 PM

There's an idea!

LMAO! lol How exactly does one politely say that, Cupcake?! Hahaha!!!!

I just don't have it in me to do that. I just cannot seem to muster up the guts to speak up about anything. I'm totally mousy. down rolleyes

From how you are on here I find that hard to believe.p lol

It is a nice gesture and says you're thought of.up

I stand up for myself in some instances and food I'm paying for is one of them. If I don't like what I was brought I will have it taken back. Then I wonder if they did anything to the next plate of food they bring. bigeyes lol

I know! It's really easy to be outgoing and assertive when I've got a monitor to hide behind. p bigsmile

I totally agree! You can do it, Karen!

Lovinmalamuteslovinmalamutes Monday, October 12, 2009 12:27:36 PM

You should be yourself in any instance. You deserve to have the things the way you want them, and sometimes that takes standing up and roaring. Believe me I rarely stand up and roar, but I will if I feel it is necessary. bigsmile

You can do it Karen!!! The next time you go out and order something and it isn't what you ordered, or it is not as presented, then tell them. Don't just settle. Life is way to short to settle. Especially when you are paying for it.up bigsmile

KarenNerak Monday, October 12, 2009 4:10:03 PM

lol I vow to never eat half-cooked food at a restaurant again! yes

Lovinmalamuteslovinmalamutes Monday, October 12, 2009 4:33:48 PM

Way to go, and you stick to it!!!yes lol

KarenNerak Tuesday, October 13, 2009 12:54:01 AM

Thank you! heart If not for your pep-talk, I would be eating raw chicken against my will...again! lol

pssst Well, not totally raw...but certainly not cooked all the way! right

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Tuesday, October 13, 2009 1:58:24 PM

About 3 years ago, I decided that I would be who I really am online or offline because I don't want to cause any confusion in my kids if they are to read anything that was written by me. Would hate for them to read my blog and think, "who the hell is that woman, certainly not OUR mother!"

But the only problem with being 'me' is minding my manners, trying to be as polite as I can. I mean, it's not like you guys can hear me yell or whatever...so for the most part I am just working on please, thank you etc. No one in this world is perfect, not even the cooks in restaurant will always make your food perfect. If food is sent back and they don't understand why you sent it back then that is their problem and not yours. You deserve to be healthy enough individual to say, "This isn't to my liking and I want it done right, thank you very much"

When someone goes as far as putting their health in danger over not speaking up, it's time to take some classes on being assertive. I love the thought of being assertive, it's a polite way of getting things 'done'. happy

Google, "how to be assertive" I think it will help.
love

KarenNerak Tuesday, October 13, 2009 3:02:35 PM

lol That's quite alright. My Dad has sent me every book he could get his hands on regarding my lack of confidence...etc. This is who I am. smile

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Tuesday, October 13, 2009 3:07:38 PM

Lack of confidence has nothing to do with dangering your health! bigeyes

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Tuesday, October 13, 2009 3:12:48 PM

Guess I really meant that. o

KarenNerak Tuesday, October 13, 2009 3:35:56 PM

lol

I know...and I don't put my health at risk purposely! lol The last time I got something that wasn't fully cooked at a restaurant, I ate around the raw sections. Hahaha...that counts for something, right?! bigsmile

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Tuesday, October 13, 2009 3:45:06 PM

Yes, It does count for something. up

I find that when I hold thoughts or feelings in, I get really angry. That isn't good!

Lovinmalamuteslovinmalamutes Tuesday, October 13, 2009 5:28:52 PM

I'm an emotional packer. I don't share my feelings other then in my Little Diddies' so I expect that one day I'll erupt and it will make Mt. St. Helen's (May 1980 erupted in Washington State) look like a sneeze in comparison. rolleyes

I do send food back if it isn't as I ordered it. But that isn't being mean or anything of the sort. It is just making sure I get what I paid for.up bigsmile

KarenNerak Tuesday, October 13, 2009 6:55:56 PM

I'm a packer-inner, too. down I'm sure that comes as a massive shock to both of you. p

Why.....not at all! lol There has to be some way you are letting it out...awww

KarenNerak Monday, October 19, 2009 9:04:35 PM

I generally wait until I'm about ready to explode in a rage before I let it out. lol Very logical of me! rolleyes

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Wednesday, October 21, 2009 8:53:50 PM

We all have different ways of handling our emotions...it is mostly the way we were raised and then genetics...

Sometimes I hold it in depending on my mood and situation. Thank God lately I have been in a good mood. lol Actually TODAY I am in a good mood. rolleyes

KarenNerak Wednesday, October 21, 2009 9:26:33 PM

h00ray for good Cupcake moods! yesparty

OMG you are so right! Feelings AREN'T logical! *light bulb moment* I think feelings are the base of what drives us as humans not to be robots, though. And THAT is the best thing about them. smile

Lovinmalamuteslovinmalamutes Sunday, October 25, 2009 6:02:02 PM

So true. But the unfortunate side is feelings can be volatile on the dark side of them. Anger, hate, ect... those drive people to do things so horrifying.yikes
