Case of the Missing Cupcake...

I made a batch of beautiful vanilla cupcakes and set them out to cool as usual. 24 cupcakes. There were exactly 24. But I noticed one was missing before icing them! The cats were out but I really never thought they would steal a cupcake.
After looking around the house for what seemed like forever, I finally gave up. But when cleaning later in the day...I saw something shiny and suspicious under the sidebar. It was the cupcake with the top neatly nibbled off! (along with a couple of other sketchy things)
There is a pretty good chance that it was 'Midnight', the boy cat. He is mischievous like that.
The cupcakes turned out really great. I took a can of normal chocolate icing and added 2 cups of powdered sugar and a tablespoon of water, whipped together in a bowl to make it extra fluffy.
The kids enjoyed them and they were fun to make with the sprinkles.

We had a cat once who stole a loaf of bread right off the kitchen table. We found her under the house, tearing into it as though it was an animal she'd hunted. Up until then I had no idea cats liked things with flour ... !

Have you ever bought that butter cream icing at Walmart that is in a lavender box? It's in the area where the wedding stuff is and the special cake pans, that little crafty area. That icing is SOOO good!
