This Sunday morning I was doing my normal routine, getting the kids off to church, cleaning, doing laundry..etc. So...laundry...let's start on that topic. Why is this such a cause of stress for me? I don't understand why I can't go into the laundry room and just wash the clothes like a robot, not thinking about the color separating, turning the shirts right side out, turning the jeans RIGHT side out. *exasperated* There is nothing that bothers me more than turning clothes the right side out. Imagine doing this for 4 girls who love to change clothes several times a day and won't wear a jacket twice without wanting it washed.
Why do they put their winter jackets in the dirty clothes when they should have hung the jackets back into the coat closet? LOL It's as if they are too girlie to even imagine putting on a jacket worn one day. Ok, after obsessing over that....I obsessed over my bathroom that I share with my husband.
Why do men not aim for the toilet? Why does their piss end up on the side and front of the toilet? Don't pee in the dark you lazy turd. Hold it, aim it so that I won't have to wipe your piss constantly. I still love him though. I just wish he would sit on the toilet to pee. Do I dare ask a man to do that?
Oh I wanted to mention that my 14 year old (Rachael) volunteered for a job at her school. It's working in the greenhouse for a little each day and they pay the kids minimum wage to do it. Isn't that just the coolest thing? So she'll have a little extra money to play with now. *yey*
Halloween is coming up. I am still not sure what we are going to do. My youngest, Mariah, is going to be a bunny. (cute)
The hubby says the other 3 are too old to dress up. *shrug*My mother and step dad are going to Houston to have his treatment for pancreatic cancer next week. They will be there for an estimated month. Hopefully things will work out well and I will be keeping those two in my prayers everyday.
OMG I almost forgot to mention, my poor cat...Star (the female black cat) was playing with a toy and all of a sudden she freaked out and ran down the hall and ran into a door. She fell over dead and then started to seizure. Foaming at the mouth and all of that. I thought that maybe she used one of her 9 lives, but she seemed fine later that night. We let her rest and she begun to eat and act normal again. I still have no idea why she freaked out. Poor baby.
Talk soon!
-Sarah

The laundry! Sarah, why do you have to turn the clothes right side out? Just leave them and let the girls figure it out. I'll do other people's laundry but like you my peeve is laundry inside out. A few shirts hung up inside out will teach them.
As for men peeing sitting down, it's not that uncommon, I've known several men that do it. I think all of them have lived on their own though and have had to clean the toilet themselves! That reminds me, time to do my Sunday chores. grrr
Prayers to your step dad.

Print this and frame it above the toilet at eye level-
If you tinkle when you sprinkle
be a sweetie and wipe the seatie.
My kids are the same way with not wearing anything twice. It drives me insane. Nobody needs a fresh bath towell every flippin' day! Laundry sucks!
If your cat has another siezure bring it to the vet. I would suggest bringing it now, but it is expensive and I know you aren't in a financial possition to take her. If you have a veterinary college near you check with them..medical costs will be about a quarter of the price.

As for men & their lack of aiming...ugh. What can we do, really? I don't know about C, but when I mention something like that to Lonnie, he gets cranky...and sometimes has the nerve to deny it - as though I pissed all over the freakin' place!
Awesome that Rae sorta got a job!
Poor kitty cat.
Love ya'!

Maybe you should have the cat looked at to make sure she is ok.

I believe I began doing my own laundry at age 12. My mom said no way to doing all of our laundry! So she didn't.
Hope your little kitty will be ok.

@Karen,I passed your congrats on to Rachael.
@Marcus, I will if she shows any sign of being sick.
@Brian, Mmm good idea. I will have to remember that. *mental note* I am guessing you have one.
@Lindsay, REALLY? She trusted you guys to do it? I am afraid of doing that. Well, I stay at home still so really I don't need for them to do their own laundry. Now...if I worked...they MIGHT go to school with only their skivvies or something.
@Tyler,

Of course I remind her not to do it! She's been doing her own laundry for months now, but she has to clear it by me before she can put it in the washer.

~I learned to cook beginning at age 8, we had to cook one meal a week and wash the dinner dishes once a week.
~Yes, we did our own laundry, dried it and hung it up. I folded towels too.
~I dusted the house once a week for years.
~My brother and I took turns cleaning our shared bathroom beginning at age 13.
~My brother and I had to clean the inside and outside of my dad's semi truck for a while (ages 12-14ish) That SUCKED. Do you know how hard it is to hand wash a SEMI truck and get all those fekking bugs off?!!!
~Also I took care of the horses, feeding, watering, tack, ect.. and fed the dogs from age 8 on.
~I remember picking up rocks endlessly... ugh... if you live on rocky terrain, you're never going to get them all!
~I mowed the grass in the summer beginning at age 9 I think. My brother did the weedeating. I could never stop the lawnmower (my legs were too short to reach the brakes!) so I ran it into a tree every time.
~In high school I also did my dad's laundry and the bookkeeping for the receipts of what my dad spent that week while gone in the truck. (he was a truck driver)
~I cooked dinner 5 nights a week from ages 17-19.
My mom stayed at home until I was about 13 or so I think. Then she went back to work full time. I damned sure know how to take care of myself and my house.

I remember picking rocks out of the pastures...was a tremendous chore..and as you said endless.

Hope your kitty is going to be okay.
Hope your hubby understands when you tell him that - unless he cleans up his own puddles - you, too, are going to be peeing standing up from now on ... and not cleaning it up.
Happy (belated) Birthday, too!

When I left I was training and howing horses for cliets as well as my own horses.
I cannot express to you how much I miss it.
I hated washing the wooden stall walls with creasote...and the backs of the stalls once a week..always messy..
At least everyone mucked stalls every day together.
Cleaning saddles once a month sucked, but I did all the crap work just because I loved the animals.
Scrubbing 120 feed and water buckets every Saturday with creasote wash harsh...I hate that stuff..we eeven painted fences with it until one of the horses decided to be anaphilactic to it.
I guess

I can't believe that you trust your kids to do their clothes.
My clothes get separated like this
browns
greens
blues
reds (includes pink)
whites
black and or gray
then the white stuff that has color in it.
