5th Year Anniversary and all that jazz.

I could NOT let this December go by without recognizing that my blog is 5 years old. It's still a baby, but I have to mention it of course! I am not going to lie at all...I don't feel like sitting here writing this post. Sitting at the computer lately is something I try to do only in the morning before the kids get up. Right now it's 6 in the evening and dinner is cooking on the stove. I hear kids behind me chattering and talking away and it's extremely hard to concentrate on this. But my friends at Opera and my blog are on my mind. Often. Anyway...Oh yeah..my blog's birthday. So...I have been here since Dec. 2004. Doesn't seem that far back yet so much has happened in the past 5 years. Growing up is something I had to learn the hard way. Me, now being 34, has settled into knowing what is important in my life. I know that my family is true to me. They will always be true to me and love me despite... well everything! Learning to love them back fully and wholly is one lesson that I have had to digest. Just to let everyone know...I really have enjoyed all my friends here at MyOpera. I was member of the week once ( a long time ago) Ummm...I have won a t-shirt. Ummm I have made a best friend here. Which, we oddly enough had our own ups and downs. She calls me Cupcake and I call her Biscuit. Most importantly...learning more about human behavior, thoughts and opinions. As I write this, my husband is at work. My oldest daughter (14) is in her room talking on the phone with her BFF, my 13 year old twins are watching a movie and my youngest girl (10) is now spending the night with a friend. (yey for me) So yeah, I will start 2010 with a fresh new attitude I hope. smile love Sarah MySpace Cupcake Graphics

I was sitting sick in my bed and was working on my (software) project for my final semester exam of M.Sc. IT.

For the first time I heard the voice of one my nice friends who came across me on my blog. She called me to wish me a Happy New Year. I felt really happy.

I spoke to one of my friends whom I met here and who helped me a lot even though I was totally a stranger to him. I talked to him for a hour or so. He is my best friend and you would not come across such a person every day.

I plunged into the memories of all the years I have spent so far. I reminded myself of my resolutions which I made at the dawn of the 1st January, '09.

[1] I will get my Masters Degree in IT.
[2] I will be earning at least 20,000 INR / month.
[3] I will get RHCE certified.
[4] And some other things which I thought were important to me.

So, did I achieve all of them? Nope!

[1] I am appearing in my final semester's exam this month. That means I am completing my M.Sc. IT degree course. Today I submitted an awesome Software Project at the center.

[2] I am earning around 16,000 INR / month. That shows I have made some progress. If there had been no recession then the company would have given me a higher increment in my salary. I have had a meeting with the HOD and the HR Vertical to increase my salary otherwise I will look for opportunities somewhere else. It will be 2 years and 3 months this 15th Jan. here.

[3] If my the institute were a good one then I would be certified by now. My hard earned money is lost which I paid for the fees. My gorgeous trainer is a useless *** (I don't like bad words, Fatimah once told you, right?). However, I am going to be certified after my final semester's exams are finished next month.

[4] And, yeah, many things I learned this year.


But I wish to have a day (a lot) like yours: Kids are playing, chatting, bugging me and my wife, and my wife... hmmm... kissing me a Happy New Year! wink Hahah!!!
