Curiousity Killed The.................Squirrel.....o_O

, , , , , , ,

Something catasrophic happened over the weekend. We were all relaxing on a lazy Sunday and heard a thud at the back door. But what we saw next put me in catographer mode lightening fast!

Midnight was not denying in anyway the sin he had committed!! IN FACT he was throwing it directly in our faces and at the back door! I know what he was thinking...you could see it in those green eyes, the death stare........

Midnight was very proud of himself and may have even thought he brought home the bacon. But in fact... I felt sad for the little squirrel. It's tiny lifeless paws laying together as if begging for life....

But when he begun to eat it like a McDonalds $1.00 burger, I quickly disposed of the still warm creature in a non recyclable plastic bag and threw it in the dumpster.

Honestly, if we lived in our own home I would have buried it along with the birds and various other small creatures that have lost their life in similar fashion.

But I am not sure how happy apartment management would be of me digging a hole around their automatic sprinkler system and landscaped lawn. left

Good Kitty!
Squirrels are just tree rats. They eat all the fruit from your trees. They get in your attic and destroy wiring and vents. Noisy neighbors running though the attic. Chewing up your deck chair cushions. One even attacked me with a half eaten pear.
They are like little buzz saws, destroying anything they can just for fun or for revenge. Harley wiring is one of their favorite ways to get even.
I use to trap them and release them in the woods but they tore up my trap!

Other than that I think they are cute bigsmile

Too funny! Our cat is an indoor cat only, and to satisfy his "hunting needs", we bought him a stuffed animal rat from Ikea. It's about as big as him, but believe it or not, he still manages to drag it all around the house and flip it around in the air (it's the funniest thing). Good job capturing your cat's antics on film!

P.S. I always have my camera ready in case my cat does something funny too. And let me tell you, rechargeable batteries keep my camera ready for anything! Here's a great company I've found that makes recyclable, rechargeable batteries: www.powergenix.com.

I feel bad that squirrel died, but I can't blame your cat for being a cat. Your cat was helping with the food supply of the family. That is why they bring the critters they kill to our doors! They think they are helping. How can you blame them for that??rolleyes

I knew you didn't.

BTW At least a squirrel is bigger then a mouse, so it will feed more of the family members.p up

One of the bummers of having a cat! We have...... 10 (yep, didn't get the ados off to the vet fast enough for chop chop and snip snips). We keep them well stuffed so they don't feel too tempted to decimate completely the birdies, mousies, etc populations.
