I've "dead-headed" them both a couple of times, and they are in the process of blooming again. ("Dead-heading" means to pick all the dead blooms from the stems to allow new growth, for anybody who doesn't know that. I didn't until I heard a lady at church talking about dead-heading her roses so they could bloom again.

I asked my husband to cut the tree down and instead he took the biggest part of the rose bush, AND the tree down with his trimmer 'thingy'.
They bloomed beautifully and then all seemed to whither. I will have to take a pic of it, remove the dead blooms and see it 'rebloom'. Thanks again for the tip.
