Roxy our new Rabbit....

She has a big cage out back that someone gave to us! It was only this day that we were letting her roam around free with the girls, while I was snapping pics. Roxy seemed so excited to be running about that it was hard to catch her in a picture unless she was nipping on grass!

oh it is so cute smile I always wanted to have one when I was a child, but instead of a rabbit my mother bought my sister and two chicks p

lol

I want chickens! I want to live on a farm, really. I take care of all the animals around here, it wouldn't be much harder!

Exactly! yikes I keep telling the girls that. *sigh* they still want a dog, though and I was actually thinking about having one before we put the rabbit outside. smile They want one of every animal, but don't want to take care of them. lol

Hi San! I agree heart

Andredecaspecht Thursday, May 27, 2010 4:34:00 PM

haha it would be a good idea if we lived in a farm, but we lived in a house with no garden! poor little chicks p they didn't survive for a long time.

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Thursday, May 27, 2010 4:41:04 PM

how sad, I would hate to get a pet just to see it die. I also hate it when people get rabbits and keep them in small cages, just to see all the 'cuteness'. If an animal isn't free to roam, then don't get one!

So...it's ok about the chicks...because maybe your mother was just trying to make your sister happy.

I remember when I was young, my grandmother (who lived on a farm) had geese and ducks, sheep, chicken and horses. (all at one time or another) I remember seeing the chicken getting their head cut off. yuck

Andredecaspecht Thursday, May 27, 2010 5:13:34 PM

yeah, I agree with you, I also think it's sad.. but we were kids and my mother couldn't give us a dog because my father didn't like it.
my mother tells me when she was younger and she lived in a farm she had to help her mother to kill the chickens and pigs

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Thursday, May 27, 2010 5:23:01 PM

Ohhh I would hate that! Especially pigs...blah!

Cute! Believe it or not, we're not allowed to own rabbits in Queensland. I'll have to have one vicariously through you. wink

It's a deal! She is sooooooo sweet, and never bites...yet. Although one of the girl's friends called her a vampire rabbit because of her red eyes.

Do they eat your gardens? Now that would bother me...

Uncle MickMickeyjoe-Irl Wednesday, June 2, 2010 1:49:18 PM

I haven't heard of it being a problem. I only see them out in the country so I imagine they're eating grass from the pastures and foraging in the woods.
