Filing Homework Cheat

, , , , ,

Yes, I said 'Cheat for Filing Homework" rolleyes

It's not that I don't want to alphabetize in my mind--really--I just want to take FULL advantage of using the Internet and on-line resources!!

1.Go to this web site TEXT FIXER.
2.Change default settings and enter the text that you need to alphabetize.
Example- Kansas Athletics State Commission
Kansas Economic Development Commission
etc

3. Click on the 'Alphabetize Text' button
4. And voilà! You have the text below that you can paste into your OPEN OFFICE word file and use bullets and numbering to number your list. OF COURSE your list is going to be much longer and more complicated...this is only an example.

I hope this makes it easier for someone like myself who searched the Internet for some help...damn filing class. irked

This just reminds me - again - why I'm SO glad I'm done with classes! bigsmile

You may be cheating, but you sure are resourceful sherlock

John DoeKenSA Monday, August 16, 2010 11:38:44 PM

Well, it is not cheating if it is not plagiarism, right?

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Monday, August 16, 2010 11:38:54 PM

I surprised you even commented Lindsay, because the subject is SUPER boring. I really have to make myself stay awake in class. I just hope someone can use this info. When I was searching on the internet, I didn't find ANY blog post or help in with shortcuts. Anyway...thanks for the comment. *hug*

Going to study and knit...lol.

Plagiarism sounds better than cheating. Actually it is cheating because I am not using my brain w/out the cheat. Like, in a book, if you know the ending already it sort of defeats the purpose of reading it.

Or something like that.

Well as long as you don't fall asleep from bordom during class. left

While sitting on the front row. right

If you're using OpenOffice, couldn't you use the spreadsheet module and use the sort button there? You may have already had the tool in your toolkit...

paste text into Calc

select the column by clicking the letter at the top of it

select the ascending sort button

everything is sorted

select the spell-check button on the left

go through until all known words are spell-checked

copy all the text from OpenOffice Calc, but make sure to Paste as 'Unformatted text' to OpenOffice Writer

the sorted list is now ready for bullets, etc.

No, but I have seen others do it. I've never been a day sleeper, although medications can help me become one! bigsmile

Nice to see you can put that knowledge to work right away. Oh yeah: keyboard shortcuts - the lifeblood of every aspiring computer geek. yes

Go to Google and type "timmy ho" in the search box. The first result will be your answer.
