A Great Weekend

, , , , , , , , , , ,

This weekend was relaxing and nice for a change. The girls were here off and on and on a rare on I took the opportunity to snap their pictures. smile It was so weird to direct these grown children to line up and get in place. I felt like they were 2,3 and 4 years old again. But one thing is for sure, I don't miss them being little!

I love having time to myself to sew, scrapbook, make things, cook. It's nice, ya know? Please excuse any typing errors, it's late. smile

So I think on Saturday, most of the day was spent with my oldest shopping. We really had a great time and a nice visit. At lunch, we sat in Subway with mostly men sitting alone while their wives shopped, I suppose. They were reading the paper, eating sandwiches and quietly watching people walk by. Rae and I joined the men at our own table and I picked up the paper and quickly scanned through it.

Rae spotted a grasshopper on the side of a cart, and was sort of fixed on it for a good 5 minutes until it fell off and got mushed under a wheel of a shopping cart! She was so dismayed that her hands flew up to her flushed cheeks and she sort of let out a groan. sad Poor girl was really rooting for that grasshopper to land on someone and scare them. I tried to console her by letting her know there were many more to take his place. (Although, this year I haven't seen grasshoppers so much...unlike past years)

Noticing that the store is *already* putting bathing suits on sale and pushing in fall items we decided to pick her up a new one. It is adorable! Red with some gathering around the stomach. Very classic style, modest but a little sexy. I loved it and was encouraging her to love her youthful figure!

I am actually excited this year to shop for school clothes. Unlike other years, this year is going to be full of beautiful flowing tops and girly soft colors! I love it! We have also found a few shopping sites online that I hope do us right and send the clothes! (fingers crossed) No one has money to burn...so I'm hoping for the best. smile

Today my little Syair was over heart. He is getting so tall and is only 17 months old! I don't know what I will do when he is 6 feet or taller and hugging me! heart Syair melts me with those big brown eyes and always wanting me to hold him. Now he wraps his sweet arms around my neck and gives me kisses. Do you know that really pulls at my heart strings? I love my little grandson....

Rae and her husband (= are doing good. Marriage is tough, so I congratulate them.

More later,
Sarah

So many bloggers are becoming grandparents! Surely I haven't been here that long?! wink Of course, I'm not one to say anything since I married into two grown grandchildren and now have one who is a few months old and will have another one toward the end of August! faint

Don't tell anyone that these kids melt in my arms. wink

Nice pic of your girls!

Hey Hey Henry smile Well, it has been 9 years since I have been blogging here...give or take a few months. And my 18 year old so lovingly made me a grandmother...not a path that I would chose and I fight my inner demons about it. I blame myself about it and went through plenty of tears. It's a horrible feeling, honestly. So, besides that, the grandson is amazing and so smart! So let's see how this all pans out.
