Please link to my post if you are going to use it. Making patterns isn't as easy as it looks and I would love some credit...thank you. Sarah Dreams
Type of Yarn: Red Heart or 4 ply (or other as long as you are measuring gauge)
Size of Hook: H
4 sc per inch, 5 rows per inch
Instructions:
Magic ring, sc 6 into ring. Join.
Round 1: Ch 1, 2 sc into each stitch around. (join at the end of each round)
Round 2: Ch 1, *1 sc into the same as ch 1. 2 sc into next* Repeat from * to * around. Join.
Round 3: Ch 1, * 1 sc into the same as ch 1. Sc into next 2* Repeat from * to * around. Join.
Round 4: Ch 2, *1 sc into the same as ch 1. Sc into next 3* Repeat from * to * around. Join.
Round 5-10: Continue to increase 1 sc following the pattern above. Total in 8 sc and 1 increase.
Round 11-25: beginning on this round through round 25, single crochet in each stitch around, not joining. This lower half of the hat will be worked in the round. On last stitch, slip stitch and weave in ends.
Round 26: Join color black or blue. SC in each sc around
Round 27: Slip in each sc around, loosely but keep tension. Fasten off.
Band for goggles
Cut off about about enough black yarn to circle the hat about 3 times.
Cross stitch band on with yarn needle on the 11th and 12 round of the finished hat.
Eye (make one or two, whichever you prefer)
Magic circle with black color
Sc 10 into circle. Join and add color brown.
With color brown, DC 2 times into each sc around (20 DC) Join and tie off.
With color white, Join and *DC into next DC. 2 DC into next.* repeat from * to * around.Join and tie off.
With color gray, Join and *SC into next DC, twice. SC increase into next DC* repeat from * to * around.
Slip into each sc around loosely but keeping tension. Leave a 12 in or 31 cm tail of gray yarn. Back stitch along the edge of the eye to attach it to the hat just on the black goggle 'straps'.
My tip is to weave in all ends and add a tiny drop of fabric glue to each end of the weave to ensure it doesn't unravel. Hope you enjoy.
