Speaking of Summer

We went to the lake yesterday. It was cloudy and not over 90F but my sun virgin shoulders were burned.
My pasty white skin wasn't used to the sun...or the clouds...or outdoors for that matter. I do know that the most dangerous rays come out on cloudy days, but I decided to live on the wild side.

We arrived after a 45 minute drive to the "mountains". As much of a mountain that we are going to get around here within driving distance. (2,464 feet (751 m) High enough for me, considering we live in plain lands. I drove mom's car while she was my passenger.
I love spending time with mom, catching up on life! We always talk like a couple of best friends. Honestly, I could not ask for more.
I played with the kids and my sister in the water swimming around like a group of ducks. Wagging our tails and balking about.
The funniest part was snapping pics with mom and sis with her waterproof camera... lol. They are such goof balls and mom and I were testing out our 'sexy' faces. Yeah right...but you know what I mean...
I seriously almost lost it when mom was 'floating' over the rocks at the edge of the beach hoping to avoid walking on them. I tried to tell her that is might be easier to walk out of the water, because of a little thing called 'gravity'. Oh jeez, seeing her almost topple forward scared me half to death. She was laughing the whole time and I grabbed her arm. My mom is one tough cookie, but really?! Mom, please don't scare me like that again! And where your waterproof shoes woman.
Random thought, am I missing something? What is a "Gist"? Just noticed that near the pic insert tool. (Opera users) So, we all got out and had a great picnic. It was so relaxing and calm with the girls and mom and sis... We almost had nothing to talk about! We mostly just sat back and enjoyed the cool breeze and sound of the waves hitting the little beach. Sipped our drinks and listened to music with the mumbled conversation of the kids in the background. I hope heaven is sort of like that, an everyday ecstasy of being with family and being happy.Sarah
