Can you relate to this?

After seeing this Family Guy Video, I remember as a child having that same desperation of getting my mother's attention no matter what the consequence. There was something in the pit of my stomach that made me cry out for her over and over again, especially if I was asleep at night and awoke unexpectedly.
"mom"
"mooom"
"moooommmmmm"
"moooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"dad?"
I remember that like it was yesterday. Now I have to remember those episodes to deal with my children calling me now. I look them in their eyes and tell them I am listening. I don't ever want them to feel as if I am not 'hearing' them. Even though my mind may not be able to grasp what they are saying (only a mother would understand that) I nod and say, "Good, good honey." and they are PERFECTLY happy with that! Then they go on playing and 5 minutes later, here they come again.
"Mom, so and so and such and such"
and there I say
"Yeah, good honey. That' great.
" (smiling and looking in eyes)
They just want to know that you care!
