I copied and pasted the email that I sent to my mother because I really don't feel like writing.

Well, I noticed that the cat (Shadow) has been missing for a few days but I thought it was because he was running the streets. But anyway, C (husband) was looking for his black tennis shoes this AM and he heard Shadow meow. He was under ....you know ...where we put our water hose? In front of the kitchen window. well, C(husband) came in and told me that he saw him but he wouldn't move, so I went out there and called him, just to see if he would run out. He didn't so I looked under there and he was laying, but not moving his back legs.
I picked him up and moved him out to me, he seemed happy but still could not move his back legs. I set him up on his legs and he like wobbled to one side, he could walk but sort of kept falling over like he was drunk.
I took him inside and put him on a carpet and gave him food and milk, and water. He ate very quickly, but just layed there, he did try to get up and walk for a min, but i told him to lay there and rest, and he did.
So I took C to work and came back and cleaned him with a damp towel, and took the clipers and trimmed his hair around his bottom area, because I noticed that he had some poop there, that I had cleaned, like he could not clean it himself.
But, Shadow loved me cleaning him with the towel. So, now he is resting by the sliding glass door. I noticed when I cleaned him, he got really angry when I messed with his tail, I noticed that the tail is broken.
I told C that I should take him to the vet, but I can't afford the visit. I think I will let Shadow try to recover in the house for a few days and see if he can start to walk,.........what do you think?

Update, She came for lunch and looked at the cat, she thinks he can't stand because his tail is broken, they use the tail for balance.
