Earlier, I was in the kitchen finishing up the dishes and I glanced down noticing a dark spot on the beige kitchen floor... It was a scorpion. bigeyes BUT I have love for these creatures because I am under the Scorpio Zodiac sign, plus they are sort of cool looking. Picking up the broom and dust pan, I moved in slowly to sweep it up to put it outside. The poor being got all riled up and tried to fight the broom!! lol
But after I got it into the dust pan, I think the poor thing just died of a heart attack or something because it fell over and didn't fight me anymore. sad I set it gently out back in the yard under the bush and waited for it to pop up and walk away...but it just laid there, all curled up and stiff like. sad

Ohh well, I tried to save it, and that is all I can do.......

I can't upload pics yet to my still messed up computer but I did a google search and here it is, hahah glad to know it is actually a "texas scorpion" lol

Striped Bark Scorpion

Scientific name: Centruroides vittatus (Say)
(Scorpiones: Buthidae)

Facts: Scorpions are not insects but arachnids. However, they usually are included in entomology. They are important because of their painful sting. Texas species rarely cause problems when they sting except in very young children or persons hypersensitive to their venom.

The striped bark scorpion occurs throughout the state and is the only scorpion in the eastern half of Texas.
