School lunches throughout the years

, ,

While I was doing research on this post, I found so many interesting links and information that is almost impossible to share them all. I think it is wonderful that the government found it important to link learning with nutrition, even though I believe that there is still more work to be done on what they are serving the children now. Lack of funding is one of the major reasons that the children of this country are not being served more nutritious meals, I mean, can you imagine having to supply the food for millions of children each day and on a limited budget?

One million undernourished children have benefited by the Works Progress Administration's school lunch program. In the past year and a half 80,000,000 hot well-balanced meals have been served at the rate of 500,000 daily in 10,000 schools throughout the country.
