I have been tagged by someone I have been reading for about 3 years now, Quentin S Crisp
of the blog "Directory of Lost Causes" here in Opera. The original tag title is ‘Eight random things about me’
1. I am married to a Marine.
2. My favorite comfort food is red beans and rice. Because I practically grew up on it.
3. My husband's clothes take up 3/4 of the closet and mine take up 1/4. (because I hate shopping
4. I am struggling making major changes in my life....5 to be exact.
5. I got a dog last Thursday, snow day.
6. I am not a night person.
7. I have 7 brothers and 1 sister.
8. Sometimes, when I am writing I think to myself;
"This is not good enough."
Then I think;
"WAIT! I will relate to more people by being real.

Lately I have been knitting and crocheting soooo much, but the thing is...I start a project
and "almost always never" finish them. Is that saying something about me? Oh well...as soon
as I have a project finished I will post the pics promptly.
Ok...so yeah...today I was
drinking so much damn coffee that I got all hyper and even had a little anxiety. I'm lying.
It was A LOT of anxiety.
So I tried to stay busy to keep the edge of the anxiety
attack off of my back....I feel much better now...after drinking lots of water!
It seems lately I have been having a ton of anxiety attacks...and I think it is because I
was worried about my health. But I received my blood test results back and it seems I am
fine. I sometimes worry for no reason.
It is also because I procrastinate!
Admitting is the first step to recovery!!

It has been a much better week compared to last. I am working on a Star Afghan for my nephew who was born on the 4th of July (America's Independence Day) This is just the beginning of it.. the star looks a little off to me, so I adjusted the number of DC to fix that...
A good friend of mine had her baby, Brooke Madison. This is Brooke at a week old.
Isn't her hand precious?

This is the male beta fish............he is sooo camera shy! And he is also scared of any little movement! He gets on my nerves.
And here is our girl.....isn't she wonderful? lol...Just a stupid fish, I know! But they live on our coffee table and we love them! She loved the camera! What do you expect from a girl? lol

Yesterday was beautiful, but still a bit warm for this time of the year. We packed up the kids and headed towards the park with the wonderful and scenic walking trails. (yes they are 'scenic') lol Anyway, we walked .45 miles towards the falls and then .45 miles back....not too far, but doesn't account for the other mile it took to actually get
to the mile marker.
The leaves are just beginning to fall here, so there was a beautiful mixture of browns, greens and yellows surrounding us from every side. We stopped often to examine the different treasures that were along the trail, making up stories all the way. As we approached the crossing of the river, we noticed the water quite murky looking, but feeling the cool fall breeze over our shoulders instantly lifted our eyes. Ok...here on the bridge, he was totally rocking the combat boots and shorts..
I have no clue what these bright green things were....
A little grass snake that was about 2 feet long...I wanted to pick it up but 'someone wouldn't let me'.
Awwww, look what I found.
There are more photos in the 'sept/oct' photo album. Will add more later.

[A Ride on the Dashboard of my Vehicle]
In the darkness we creep out...the neighborhood is still sleeping for the most part except for those that are just stirring to prepare for work. It is still pitch black out and I have to admit..I love witnessing the slow beginning beat of the city at 6 am. Large work trucks on the road hauling goods to different parts of the country, smaller local trucks, Fed-Ex and UPS darting around in their normal spastic manner. The lights are still burning by the highway, tall and non consuming energy thanks to their solar panels, they guide my way as I speed down the interstate. About 2 years ago I heard of an accident where a man was absolutely made into road kill during an early hour such as this. So this is a fear of mine...that a homeless is going to be walking and dart out in a drunken stupor. I just pray for the angels to always be with us as we drive, the statistics are not good overall. So we are super careful to say the least!
In the car I am usually cold but other hot bloods that surround me want the air conditioner on! So beginning the fight...air or no air...air or no air. You would think because I am the parent their would be no argument on who will have the final say. But I prefer not to come to blows and we both settle on a comfortable medium. It is still black out as I come upon road construction!
I reach the destination and drop off the sometimes evil teenager...and enjoy my quiet ride home...ALONE! The silence is welcome especially when you are the brunt of everything that goes wrong in her life. I'd like to really know...how does it become the mother's fault all of a sudden? Why does the mother have to carry the burden of "MOM! you misplaced my paper,MOM, you didn't put my pencil in my backpack, MOM! you didn't tell
me that must be finished." And when do they take the responsibility on for themselves? Never?
Thanks for riding!!
