I am really not happy about Bernie Mac passing on!!!

NOT HAPPY!!!

This is so sad, he had a show "The Bernie Mac Show" and it was all about kids and family.

He was just 50 but died from a medical complication.

I loved Bernie, and will never forget my all-time favorite of his bits...the ones about the kids in his "Kings of Comedy" show a long time ago. Hell, I even liked him in Charlie's Angels, even though I thought I wouldn't. What a great performer, and what a great loss.

It's pretty amazing how many people have lost their lives to Pneumonia, isn't it?

Yep, Karen, it is. I work for a group of lung doctors, and you'd be shocked at how many people we see that die in their 30's, 40's, etc. from such a seemingly "simple" condition.

Although, I did hear on one of the news channels that he'd been diagnosed with "an immune disorder" a couple of years ago...I haven't had time to read any of the reports or find out if the immune disorder info was true or not.

Sad; it's just sad.

He did have some sort of cell disorder....wonder what it is all about.

I've read some online reports that he MAY have had sarcoidosis, which is a lung disorder more common in blacks than in whites. However, some sites are saying that it would have to have been an extreme case to have killed him, even in combo w/pneumonia.

Whatever the reason, I just feel bad that he's gone.

I don't want to turn this into a political thing, but I love the fact that when he performed at Obama's little soiree in Chicago, he didn't try to take on a different persona. Obama's camp didn't like the fact that he used "crude language" and talked about certain subjects in his routine, but The Big Mac was just staying true to himself. I guess they should have maybe watched some of Mac's previous shows to get a good idea of the kind of comedy for which he was famous.
