We went to the lake yesterday. It was cloudy and not over 90F but my sun virgin shoulders were burned. My pasty white skin wasn't used to the sun...or the clouds...or outdoors for that matter. I do know that the most dangerous rays come out on cloudy days, but I decided to live on the wild side.
We arrived after a 45 minute drive to the "mountains". As much of a mountain that we are going to get around here within driving distance. (2,464 feet (751 m) High enough for me, considering we live in plain lands. I drove mom's car while she was my passenger. I love spending time with mom, catching up on life! We always talk like a couple of best friends. Honestly, I could not ask for more.
I played with the kids and my sister in the water swimming around like a group of ducks. Wagging our tails and balking about. The funniest part was snapping pics with mom and sis with her waterproof camera... lol. They are such goof balls and mom and I were testing out our 'sexy' faces. Yeah right...but you know what I mean...
I seriously almost lost it when mom was 'floating' over the rocks at the edge of the beach hoping to avoid walking on them. I tried to tell her that is might be easier to walk out of the water, because of a little thing called 'gravity'. Oh jeez, seeing her almost topple forward scared me half to death. She was laughing the whole time and I grabbed her arm. My mom is one tough cookie, but really?! Mom, please don't scare me like that again! And where your waterproof shoes woman.
Random thought, am I missing something? What is a "Gist"? Just noticed that near the pic insert tool. (Opera users) So, we all got out and had a great picnic. It was so relaxing and calm with the girls and mom and sis... We almost had nothing to talk about! We mostly just sat back and enjoyed the cool breeze and sound of the waves hitting the little beach. Sipped our drinks and listened to music with the mumbled conversation of the kids in the background. I hope heaven is sort of like that, an everyday ecstasy of being with family and being happy.
So...the balance is apply that crap out of the sunscreen and layout for 10 minutes a day. I got so tired of that because I felt I wasn't tanning.
Maybe I applied it on to thick?
I went swimming in a public pool once back in June. I was afraid of drinking stranger's body excretions or tiny bugs that have landed *just* to get a drink. Instead, they died being sucked down into the sparkling blue concrete pond. RIP So my paranoid thoughts kept me from swimming in the public pool ever again, this summer. They are just too dirty for me!
Ready, Set...let's swim!!
Personally I want a gorgeous pool in my own back yard, surrounded by trees and lovely music playing all day long. Perfecto!
Dream on baby!
Next summer I vow to have a pool and trees....
Please link to my post if you are going to use it. Making patterns isn't as easy as it looks and I would love some credit...thank you. Sarah Dreams

I love having time to myself to sew, scrapbook, make things, cook. It's nice, ya know? Please excuse any typing errors, it's late.
So I think on Saturday, most of the day was spent with my oldest shopping. We really had a great time and a nice visit. At lunch, we sat in Subway with mostly men sitting alone while their wives shopped, I suppose. They were reading the paper, eating sandwiches and quietly watching people walk by. Rae and I joined the men at our own table and I picked up the paper and quickly scanned through it.
Rae spotted a grasshopper on the side of a cart, and was sort of fixed on it for a good 5 minutes until it fell off and got mushed under a wheel of a shopping cart! She was so dismayed that her hands flew up to her flushed cheeks and she sort of let out a groan. Poor girl was really rooting for that grasshopper to land on someone and scare them. I tried to console her by letting her know there were many more to take his place. (Although, this year I haven't seen grasshoppers so much...unlike past years)
Noticing that the store is *already* putting bathing suits on sale and pushing in fall items we decided to pick her up a new one. It is adorable! Red with some gathering around the stomach. Very classic style, modest but a little sexy. I loved it and was encouraging her to love her youthful figure!
I am actually excited this year to shop for school clothes. Unlike other years, this year is going to be full of beautiful flowing tops and girly soft colors! I love it! We have also found a few shopping sites online that I hope do us right and send the clothes! (fingers crossed) No one has money to burn...so I'm hoping for the best.
Today my little Syair was over . He is getting so tall and is only 17 months old! I don't know what I will do when he is 6 feet or taller and hugging me! Syair melts me with those big brown eyes and always wanting me to hold him. Now he wraps his sweet arms around my neck and gives me kisses. Do you know that really pulls at my heart strings? I love my little grandson....
Rae and her husband (= are doing good. Marriage is tough, so I congratulate them.

Grab cell phone, open Pinterest, search hash tag #crochet, search hash tag #crafting. That's the extent of my dirty little secret now days.
Last night I went to my daughter, Angela's school musical concert. It amazes me that she is diagnosed with a learning disability but is able to sing complicated ballads. Anyway, I cry every time I go to a concert if her's! This time I had my grandson Syair in my arms. I wasn't able to get fully immersed in the emotion because a wiggling 15 month old took almost my full attention. More later
