New things happening in April of 2010

This is going to be a totally random post and it might not make sense to anyone but myself....
Enjoy!
So....last weekend we moved from the ghetto apartments into a house that isn't huge and isn't small. It's a 4 bedroom 2 bath, which is better but the laundry room is in my bathroom reminding me daily of my wonderful job. Yey.
So, this home is older and has a slight smell of "oldness" that I have found in many of the older homes that I have looked at. What is that smell exactly anyway? Is it old ground? Mildew? Old wood? WTF is it anyway? I have been bleaching and mopping and cleaning, trying to get our smell seeping into the walls. Apparently I like to smell 'us'. You know, each house has it's own scent that it carries. This one is neither bad or good, neutral I would say. And since I have the nose of a dog it's important that it smells good.
Speaking of dog, the woman that lived here before us had a dog and the only room with carpet still carries part of that dog's DNA in it, obviously.
The yard was a very hot mess when we moved in and over the past week we have worked our butts off just mowing and raking all the extra grass and branches that were left laying around. I honestly don't see how people can let a once beautiful yard get overgrown and come home to it each day. That's just me, but whatever.

Now that we are settled, I am looking up ways to redecorate the girl's room. The two 'younger' girls share a room and the two 'older' ones have their own. I and my husband obviously have our own room. It's the DNA room, by the way.
So, I am finding online a ton of girl's room that are themed of pink and black. Nothing wrong with that, but where's the yellow and greens? I think I will invent my own color scheme!
I like this one.... So cute and I love the rug!
I wanted to note that I am having a hard time lately. I have a daughter who is giving me problems in school. It's like she is more interested in boys and friends than her school work. Friday, she 'lost' her report card.
Come on, I remember altering grades on my own report card but never used the excuse of 'losing' it. She admitted to failing Math but we shall find out today what other classes she failed.
On a lighter note, I have 3 other girls that are doing fantastically in school and my eldest is loving her freshman year of high school. I am constantly making mental notes to have her pictures printed so that she can create a scrapbook of all of her wonderful and fun things that she does in this new adventure of High School.
Just put on lastfm I am in a Madonna sort of mood.
Mmm guess I will leave this for now and grab some pics of the house for a friend's only post.
