Orientation....

Today I went to orientation for school that I start on Monday. And I can say is...........AWESOME! I can't wait to start and get back into the real world and out of my little safe haven and home. Woo hooo! Sarah on the loose! Ok, so I was feeling sort of blah and then 2 days ago I got a ton of my 'umphness' back!! I have been busy as a bee and I am so freakin' excited to become an 'adult'. I real adult with real things to do. Awwww, I feel so grown up!! (not that 4 kids and a husband didn't do it, but this is different..ok?!)

I had an interesting conversation with a guy sitting beside me who had 3 kids under the age of 8. *sigh* I remember those days. Good luck to him and studying at home. bigeyes Thank GOD my youngest is 10 and they are pretty self sufficient. WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Hell yeah!

Oh....I wanted to say congrats to my daughter for all the awards she earned while in JROTC camp. She did wonderful! If some of you remember, Rachael is now 15 and wants to be a .....US Marine! I hope to God she changes her mind, for my own sake. But...she is smart enough and is actually being pulled by Air Force because of all her super brain power. But...she wants to be a Marine like her daddy. heart Isn't that just the sweetest? Well she has 3 years to decide what branch and IF she even wants to do that. But if you know this girl...she puts her mind to something and DOES it. pssst she didn't get that from me. right

Well, just wanted to drop that on y'all!

Congrats to Rachael, and I hope for her the best. My brother was (is) a Marine. (Once a Marine, always a Marine. bigsmile) Hard work, but so worth it.

And congrats to you, too, Sarah! I love going to college, and having the opportunity to learn in a classroom setting like that. It's wonderful having that give-and-take kind of discussion, and I hope you enjoy the heck out of it! It's more fun to learn when you're going as a "seasoned" adult. It means more, and the value of getting an education is much more understood. There is such a feeling of accomplishment when you complete a course, or a semester/term/quarter. I'm really glad for you, and do hope you enjoy yourself.

wow, awesomeness all around at your house! smile

Good luck! Study hard wink

Good to hear that you had a nice time. I enjoy working with the mature age students at uni. They actually talk! Students straight out of high school are so scared and never open their mouths.

Great news! Thanks for sharing it. smile

Wow that's totally different from the atmosphere in most of my classes. Kids out of school sit there with blank looks on their faces, not wanting to make any sort of expression. If they get asked a question 'Ahh I don't know' is the answer'. Of course, there are some exceptions and some young students actually get involved in activities, but most of them don't sad

I am not sure of the ages exactly but I know a lot of them had kids. Some were 'youngerish'. I'll be taking pictures in the future and spreading our mugs all over Opera, rest assured. bigsmile

Had to come here early before classes. Still trying to figure out what to wear. bigeyes Oh dear!! lol

I'll be glad for the day I am wearing scrubs, but that comes later.

Hey Sarah!

You actually go to college! What a nice surprise! bigsmile

[Just don't ask me how's mine going (:]

How does it feel like? They say motivation for studying decreases with years... O_o I doubt I'd be brave enough, if I were you...

That's perfectly ok!!! Some people take YEARS and years to decide. If I don't like what I do and we are able to afford for me to go back to school, then I will do that. Life can be long and well lived if you make it.

How funny! I was just discussing this with my very smart 15 year old. We have decided that I actually have more motivation than an average 20 something because I have children that I am thinking about making a living for. My daughter loves to 'help me' with my homework and she even recognizes some of the terms and rules in English class. (in my English class)
THEY encourage me. I do full time study at school. When I come home I study 2 to 4 more hours. It's ok for now because I will grow used to it.

I think I do a 'serious' degree, but you still get some slackers there. Thing is, even if you have a degree, if you got bad grades in everything, no one is going to employ you. I don't think these people have realised that:|

My sister is studying Lab Medicine. I'd be ok with her testing my blood. However, I've heard of some people in her class...I don't want them testing my blood. They sound like they don't have a clue what's going on AHHH!

You are sooo right. Some girls/guys can stick your vein well and others can't. Same applies to every part of medicine. I don't think that just *anyone* can be a Phlebotomist.

galadriel Thursday, June 24, 2010 12:11:01 PM

Are you studying to be a Phlebotomist *googles it* Wow, I've learnt a new word:)

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Friday, June 25, 2010 12:43:20 PM

lol, no I am not going to be a Phlebotomist. But I DO have to have over 200 sticks (figuratively and not literally) before I graduate. Any takers??! devil

galadriel Friday, June 25, 2010 10:16:29 PM

*walks quietly away and takes her little veins with her* wink

Sarah Dreamsangel292005 Saturday, June 26, 2010 2:51:52 PM

I just learned the medical term for small veins! "venule" So, next time you need blood work, impress them by saying..."Forewarning you, I have venules." bigsmile Sounds so funny!

Marine sounds cool!
