I am broke...but my internet bill is paid. So that is where
I am going to be! I don't care what you think. I paid for
it! irked I am going to use it! And use it all! I will be
here til I reach the end of the internet!! Damn high gas
prices. Have me stuck here on the internet! I'm STUCK! ON
CAFEMOM AND MYOPERA!! And some other random coupon sites.
Yeah....I print coupons...so what about it? HUH?! yes i love
coupons. do you love coupons? WELL THEN PRINT SOME!

With gas prices being what they are , probably a lot of people like me are just going to lay around the pool this weekend and take it easy, driving in holiday traffic is no fun anyways.

Anyone who lives in Central Florida and purchases satellite tv or satellite internet access soon becomes very disappointed!

During the summertime, we experience severe thunderstorms every single afternoon (tropical) and, while these are occurring, those who are on satellite lose their signals! Everyone I know down here who purchased dish or satellite access has thrown their dishes into the trash and gone back to cable!

I must admit, the super speed achieved by using the highest speed available via cable Roadrunner is well worth the price I pay.

You play...you pay...fact of life (LOL)!

RR is usually provides some of the quickiest cable access in the country. It is worth the money, just cut the extra money needed for it from the kids allowance or budget whistle

Just what it says, qlue! Rather than using landlines (telephone company) or cable (coax), the ISP uses signals bounced from origin, to a satallite, and back down to the destination. Because the signals are transmitted through open air, they are highly subject to interferrence and complete loss due to inclimate weather, sun storms, etc.

It is cheaper than cable access (as a general rule). I consider it a step above dial-up and one step below cable access.

Actually, ripp, I was paying $9.95 per month for dial-up, $28.00 per month telephone bill, $15.00-$25.00 for long distance. That's a total of anywhere between $48.00 and $63.00 total per month.

I purchased Turbo-Speed Roadrunner (via cable) for $44.95, purchased magicJack (for telephone and long distance) which cost me $24.95 for the unit that plugs into a USB port and only $19.95 per YEAR for unlimited calls and long distance throughout the United States and Canada. By eliminating my telephone bill and long distance charges, as well as the $9.95 I was paying, I'm actually spending LESS for everything combined than I was for dial-up and landline services!!!

Lee you are absolutely right about the phone service and speed. The price was too much for us. Cell phone, plus cable bill was not affordable for us. But looking at what we pay now...I am not sure if satellite is much cheaper.

We do have cable access here...

We plan on moving within the next year I think will switch back to cable for sure. We signed a one year contract with satellite.

The only bad thing about my cable is the thing that my flatmate sometimes needs an extra connection, so he borrows mine (he studies programming)... And the both of us are too lazy to get it back too soon, so I dissappear once and a while. x))

Wouldn't a splitter take care of that? Then you wouldn't have to worry about reconnecting. Splitters are really inexpensive.
