Angelholme's Coding Blog

Me and my laptop against the world. Ish.

Introduction

, , ,

For the past thirteen years I have been working in software development, for two different companies, and it turns out I am actually quite good at it. According to people I have worked with, my mind seems to work a lot faster, and figure out how to solve problems and knock together code far quicker than most people would think possible.

I put this down to two things - a lot of practice at coding in various different languages, and the fact I have inherited an affinity for languages from my mother - although she is more talented in the area of foreign languages as opposed to programming languages.

Aside from the coding I do at work, I tend to write small utility applications at home (such as file managers, diary programs and so forth). This is mostly because I really don't have the urge to write any large programs at home, but also because the licensing issues that come with most of the development environments I use.

But now - now I am going to branch out and try a larger application - one to design choose your own adventure books. This was because I started writing a website for my girlfriend, and halfway through realised there HAD to be a better way to do it.

So I came up with this instead.

This diary is going to chronicle the whole thing - from the basic design of the application to what environment I'm going to use, and so forth.

It could be really boring and no one might want to read it, but I figure I have this shiny new blog - I might as well put it to some use!
