That's simple: a “dangerous” DPRK is useful in keeping Japan well within the U.S. orbit. It also is another excuse for once-pacifist Japan to boost its already formidable arsenal.
Since the end of the Korean War 60 years ago, the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK or North Korea) has repeatedly put forward virtually the same four proposals to the United States. They are:
1. A peace treaty to end the Korean War. 2. The reunification of Korea, which has been “temporarily” divided into North and South since 1945. 3. An end to the U.S. occupation of South Korea and a discontinuation of annual month-long U.S-South Korean war games. 4. Bilateral talks between Washington and Pyongyang to end tensions on the Korean peninsula.
The U.S. and its South Korean protectorate have rejected each proposal over the years. As a consequence, the peninsula has remained extremely unstable since the 1950s. It has now reached the point where Washington has used this year’s war games, which began in early March, as a vehicle for staging a mock nuclear attack on North Korea by flying two nuclear-capable B-2 Stealth bombers over the region March 28. Three days later, the White House ordered F-22 Raptor stealth fighter jets to South Korea, a further escalation of tensions.
Regarding the situation in the Korean Peninsula and the policy of nuclear deterrence
Members of World without Wars and Violence are extremely concerned about the escalating tension in the Korean Peninsula.
The “state of war” declared by North Korea may be nothing more than rhetoric for domestic purposes to show how strong the young President is, as hoped for by South Korea. Or this might be the final madness of a North Korean regime which has kept its population impoverished and cut off from the outside world ever since the last shots of the Korean War were fired in 1953.
The USA and South Korea have been undertaking military exercises for years and the current round is due to last until the end of April. Recently, the USA has announced the use of stealth bombers simulating an attack which could be nuclear in nature.
In retaliation for threats from the USA and South Korea, North Korea has developed their own nuclear weapons. This has led to sanctions, increased tension and a strengthened resolve by North Korea to develop their nuclear capability even more.
Clearly we condemn all threats of war, especially between countries who possess nuclear weapons. The humanitarian consequences of such weapons have been shown in the recent Oslo inter-governmental conference to be devastating to humanity. Nothing can justify their possession or use.
Img: Connect The Dots But mostly we condemn the provocation of the US who has been bullying the world with nuclear weapons ever since the end of the Second World War. Their continued military presence in Japan and South Korea has contributed to rising tension in the region and left the leaders in North Korea feeling so nervous.
The USA, not content with being the only country to have used these horrifying weapons, continues to threaten their use on any country they take a dislike to.
Instead of complying with their obligations to disarm under the terms of the Non-Proliferation Treaty they spend tens of billions of US dollars on modernising their arsenals and make only modest reductions which still leaves them capable of destroying humanity several times over.
US military strategy is based on a policy of nuclear deterrence which is a lie, built on the myth that Japan surrendered the Second World War after the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. However, it has become clear to historians since the end of the Soviet Union, that it was the USSR declaration of war on Japan and invasion of their occupied territories in China that caused Japanese capitulation.
Nuclear weapons did not deter the USSR from stationing weapons in Cuba, they did not deter China from supporting North Korea in the Korea War, they did not deter the military dictatorship of Argentina from sending their armed forces to the Falkland Islands/Las Malvinas, and they did not deter Iraq from bombing Israel with scud missiles. How exactly does nuclear deterrence work?
Nuclear deterrence is nothing more than an excuse to maintain an economic model based on war.
It is time for the world to wake up to the fact that nuclear weapons create global insecurity instead of creating peace and absorb huge quantities of the globe’s financial resources at the same time which could better be spent on developing health, education and infrastructure around the world: a much better way to ensure peace.
International Court of Justice(1) has already concluded that any use of nuclear weapons would be in contravention of international humanitarian law and we consider that any use of nuclear weapons, accidental or otherwise, would be a crime against humanity.
In conclusion, World without Wars calls on North Korea to exercise restraint in the face of threats from the USA and South Korea. We also call on any country with friendly relations with North Korea to use their influence to prevent any attack.
We call on the USA and South Korea to immediately stop their military exercises and we call for immediate resumption of the six-party talks to begin the creation of a nuclear weapons free zone in North East Asia.
The division for almost 60 years of a people with a history stretching back over 5000 years is absurd and the international community and civil society must do whatever it can to help mend this inhuman division of a country, a people and even families.
In this context we call for an end to finally be declared to the Korean War and for the demilitarised zone to be dismantled.
We finish this statement with words offered by members of World without Wars and Violence in a conference in South Korea on the occasion of the World March for Peace and Nonviolence on the 18th of October 2009, shortly after World March international observers became the first foreigners to visit inside the demilitarised zone:
“We urge those in power in the North and in the South to sit down to negotiate, to leave aside their personal selfish interests and let the people be the only protagonist of their care. And, we urge the Korean people to fight for their liberation through negotiation rejecting all forms of violence. Only with words can we find the way to break chains: chains that have until now prevented free circulation of the citizens of this beautiful country, sewing hatred, mistrust and discord.” World without Wars and without Violence
Why increasingly "Perfect" weapons help perpetuate our wars and endanger our nations by L. C Douglas A Pryer.
A potential threat to all the national militaries and their respective populations , the Rise of hostile AI. This warning comes from the actual military itself on the potential of a SKYNET.
Makes you wonder why the Establishment is so very keen in getting automated warfare on the skies, robotics walking, rolling on the streets, mass automated surveillance and why they want to integrate themselves into the global "plastic" brain to immortalise themselves and be absorbed into their brand of beehive communism with transhumanist flourishes. It is about strategic position of troops for a coup.
Once the AI military assets are on the streets, it's a matter of retargeting them against the human populations instead of the enemy targets, they were supposed to be built against.
That assertion means that each of the national militaries must have an open door to hook up the subsystems into a higher gestalt Super AI Military Network of Networks, this presumptive secret could only be known only to certain key military and civilian personnel in the top brass to pull it off. Top level System Architects and Sys Admins.
As for the Ruling Elite, after they bite from the Forbidden Apple, they will surely die.
Satan will laugh all the way to Hell with them, prodded by his trident.

Airport Madness. Security or Insanity? Excerpts by Roberto Preatoni
We have been taught to stand those airport security people's faces, screaming at you and staring at you with an evil eye whenever you forgot to take away the nail-clipper from your purse. Yes, nail-clippers, terrorists' most favorite hijacking tool. It's just plain ridiculous.
Today I had to stay 30 minutes in line before the x-ray checkpoint during which I took everything metallic I had off from myself. No belt, no rings, no watch, no coins, no wallet, NO FUCKING NOTHING. Still, the metal detector alarm bell rang. What is the point in having you stripped almost naked, if the alarm is set to ring anyway? Something done just to allow the fat man wearing the "airport security" uniform squeeze and carefully touch my nuts? Hey dude, what's your job? "I am squeezing nuts at pissed off airline passengers". Hilarious, this is the new way our today's politicians ensure jobs to jobless people.
High heels madam? The man before the x-ray machine asked to my girlfriend to remove her leather boots. Not happy, the person at the x-ray screening machine decided he didn't like my elder kid's bag and decided to have his Nintendo DS screened for explosive sampling. At that time, the "FLIGHT CLOSING" sign was already flashing on the departure screen beside our flight number. Finally we finalized our x-ray, nut squeezing, bomb checking scrutiny procedures and we attempted to rush toward our gate ... but no sirs. "Please madame, take off your boots, we have to run a random shoes check" a short man told to my girlfriend. "Again?!?, I just managed to put them on after the check you did 5 meters before..." she attempted to argue. No way, she was forced to take the boots off again... while the "FLIGHT CLOSING" light kept flashing.
But wait... There is more. The whole Preatoni's story is here.
The reason why I published Elaine Meinel Supkis' cartoon along with the above story:
The cartoon at the top of this story came to me while I was taking the train from Penn Station in NYC to Albany, New York. In the news, I learned that due to the US and Israel using assassin drones to fire rockets at Muslims we don't like, there will be retaliation. So the news media told me that they will be searching bags, etc, at Amtrak stations. So I went there expecting them to assault my laptop computer. Instead, I saw no activity of this sort at all. The police were clustered about the police station there, gossiping. No one paid the slightest attention to me or my laptop. Not one person passing in or out of the station was searched. I suppose they would search someone who would come in screaming, 'Allah akkabar!'
Now someone please help me with the following set of images: The first and the second photos are clearly photoshoped material. But I'm really confused about the third one. Do you know if it is a photoshoped picture? I'm asking in serious. I'm confused.
*Note: The second image was published here as a curiosity. The freaky way that someone represented Italy's prime minister as a victim of his rage called my attention and now (a few days ago) something very similar happened to him – everybody knows.
