Topic : The US- Vietnam friendship and cooperation : A shared future
The US –Vietnam relationship is built on mutual cooperation friendship and respect. This foundation foster growth in a multitude of areas in cluding trade, education, health, cultural exchangesand military cooperation to name a few .Write an essay exploring any aspect of this multifacted relatinship.Show why it is important and how cooperation in this area affects the shared future of two nation
WHY SHOULD IT BE CULTURAL EXCHANGES ?
Both the American youth and Vietnamese youth usually think of terrible wars between two countries as they mention the US- Vietnam relationship. However, there is a fact that the Americans used to stand by Vietnamese to withdraw Japanese fascist from the land. At no time before was relationship as good as it is today and the kind of relationship fosters exchanges in the areas of trade, education, health , culture and cooperation in military. All of these aspects of this multifaceted relationship influent on the shared future positively but it should be cultural exchange which is the deepest factor
History teaches that the shortage of cultural exchange made cultural differences thus it was hard to solve problems even thought they have many things in common. Firstly, two peoples show that they are valiant in the battle to take independence. Both Vietnam and the US used to be colonies of superpower countries. During the time of being slave, people lived in poverty without liberty, justice and happiness. Humans still remember the date in 1776 when General G. Washington led thirteen colonies to the way of freedom. Most of dwellers in the US as well as in Vietnam could imagine the sign of national flag that still waved in harbor at Baltimore, Maryland when British fleet bombarded fort Mc Henry and then it inspirited an lawyer –poet to give birth to national anthem. It sounds similar to the waving flag in the independence hall in Vietnam in 1975. Secondly, habitants in both lands all love justice and freedom .It should remember the statement in the US declaration of independence written by Thomas Jefferson in the independence days of America and Vietnam. The statement emphasizes on the right to live with liberty and to pursue happiness. Finally, America a long with Vietnam is multiracial country but both governments have effective policies so that all people can rest in peace together . In spite of these, it took about two hundreds years to establish friendly relations between two countries. Only if two peoples had recognized these similarities soon would we had not have many wars
The other reason supporting the idea is that cultural interchanging moderates misapprehension between two countries so that they can give solution to their problems easier. Wars are caused by many reasons including misunderstanding the other, it can be seen conflicts in Middle East have killed thousands of people since ancient time until modern time, only by understanding and respecting other civilization could people deal with trouble patiently. It is believed that both countries go to win-win result when they have good relations, that is why governments in the whole world try to set relations with as many peoples as possible by meeting and regarding. Besides, they usually hold events for public to introduce their civilization, one of the recent activities hosted by the United State embassy and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra is the 15th anniversary concert in Ha Noi to celebrate 15 years the Us – Vietnam relationship. Through the concert, general public can understand about two cultures in order that they believe in the friendly relations between both lands.
Likewise, cultural interchanging is the best way to heal pain after the wars, when everyone sees friendly relations, they will put the end to the poignant past and long to the shared brilliant future. Wars leave corrosive effect in the land where they take place for a long time therefore, it would be hard for some to forget that fact if there were not any activities to lessen effect.Counterargument of cultural exchange may show that trade interchange is the chef factor. It may be believed to increase GDP in developing countries by raising in net export and investment from abroad, nonetheless, as stated previously , two countries can not go to win win result when they do not have good relations and the Growth in GDP could not make people happy if wars came out.
In conclusion, cultural exchanging makes it easier to solve problems between countries, moderates misunderstanding, and helps to heal pain which was left after wars. For advantages of cultural interchange. It must be the aspect that affect deeply on the shared future . To celebrate 15 years the US –Vietnam relationship, it is vital to do our utmost so that all can live in peace. May our friendship last forever
