I had avocados the other day and I just could not cast the beautiful oval seeds. I put them into the ground and watered it. And ... i forgot about it. After around one month I wanted already to throw the pot away but I saw that the stems are growing. Now I have two avocado plants. One already looks like a palm 
This is my other plant, ficus that has developed a new leave. Have a look how it opens up.
