Surface ripples in a deep and murky pool

Happy Boxing Day!

See, I've managed to say it twice!

I'm not sure why it tickles me so,

whether it's just the words themselves

or the picture it evokes; the lords and ladies dispensing largesse,

"Pip pip! Cheerio! A Happy Boxing Day to you!"

There, that's thrice.


Besides, it sounds so much more important than the day after Christmas, which it is.

We had a wonderful collaborative Christmas Dinner yesterday with friends and family! Both sons, their spouse and significant other were here, as well as friends.

My goddaughter also stopped by earlier for greetings and gifts.
