Mrs Slocombe's Pussy: Part 1

, , , ...

Panther, Catamount, Painter, American lion, Mexican lion, Florida Panther, Silver Lion, Red Lion, Red Panther, Red Tiger, Brown Tiger, Deer Tiger, Ghost Cat, Mountain Screamer, Indian Devil, Sneak Cat, King Cat, Painted Cat...
May regional names for the PUMA. Haven't verified the name 'Mrs. Slocombe's pussy' though.

Today is a special day for mankind as I launched a new photo album called 'pussy'.
Feel free to explore!

Right now we are going to use one image -the only one in the album:-)- to explore a bit a postprocessing subject; transforming and retouching in Photoshop. We all know the Photoshop learning curve is rather steep. Which means it takes time to learn; not the opposite;-). In fact it is... the learning curve is not steep.

Here's your pic..my pic...copyright 2006!

So...we are opening the image in Photoshop. And we are going to change the canvas size. The canvas sizelets you add or remove workspace around the image. You canb also use it to decrease the canvas size or cropping the image...

Choose image>Canvas size. Now you can enter the width and the height and choose the units of measurement. You can also select the relative option.
An example:

Units of measurement: cm
0,1 cm both width and height...background is black...added canvas has same color as black.
Afterwards
The same procedure
1 cm..though option for the background is white here.
As you see...a nice frame!

Hornbills

, , , ...

Hornbills (family Bucerotidae) are a group of birds whose bill is shaped like a cow's horn, but without a twist, sometimes with a casque on the upper mandible. Frequently, the bill is brightly coloured.

Both the common English and the scientific name of the family refer to the shape of the bill, "buceros" being "cow horn" in Greek.

Hello THERE...

I went to OdeGand. OdeGand?

Call it a festival in Ghent
Gent in Dutch, Gand in French. Ode..Gand...pfff.
The pictures you'll see or already have seen in the above wiki link...that's where the concert took place...on the water. The atmosphere and the weather (warm night) were goood!

Diamanda Galas (second a must be á:-).

I'll post some pics while I'm still not thinking too much about my bed.

I made pics while I was on my way to the concert,

One of the critiques and comments on this photograph, you can find here is the following:

To me, a great shot. First because I like Robbie McEwen, and second because I like Flanders. But it's a great shot anyway, perfect focus, great colour, perfect depth of field from marvellous viewpoint (camera and shot info would be appreciated). A very fine action shot that captures brilliantly the difference between coming first and coming second, and there's only a fraction of a second between them. I love the fact that the wheels are each side of the line. What a capture!

Andrew
