看到一首诗。

在字面上是：l(a leaf falls)one l iness, 但是看到不止一个外国人觉得when read the intended way, the l fuses itself back upwards to create the words "on loneliness".就变成了更有深意的 a leaf falls on loneliness. 就算再intended,我还是读不出来，语感不够吧。

另外，把 a leaf falls 藏在loneliness 的里面，隐隐约约觉得凄凉。

有人 注意到最后一行比其他都长，意味叶子落地，而iness则"suggests the hissing sound while the leaf has fallen and people walk on it."

诗排列的方式也像孤零零的数字1，又有人说是一片叶子飘落的轨迹。实际上对于第一个字母到底是数字一还是loneliness的第一个小写字母l也众说纷纭。全因为ee cummings那年代写诗用的是打字机，而不是带字体的Word XP。
