As the L.A.-based painter makes staggeringly evident, meat is raw organic matter, streaked with stringy sinew and mottled with roseate fat. Her close-up perspectives draw attention to both the grotesquerie of meat eating and the strangely beautiful textures of uncooked flesh. 从去年10月英国政府投资£371million的伦敦西南到普茨茅斯之间主干道改善工程，当在Surrey郡修建HINDHEAD A3隧道时工程需要把两边的多余树木伐掉，在伐木过程中人们发现了一棵树龄大约有400岁的(Beech)山毛榉树，树干上刻着一幅典型的二战时期风格的裸体少女漫画约两英尺大小，在下面并刻有一吋大的G.Wadham/Southall/5/3/43字样。它使英国“林业委员会”和一些历史学家都不得其解。

最后当地林业委员会的测距员说，他们在多年前就已发现了这棵树，因不想让它遭到人为破坏，所以几乎没有人知道，当时我们猜测作者，可能是二战时期当地曾有过一所加拿大新兵训练营里面的士兵所为，经[每日邮报]后续研究刻这幅漫画的是当时在这里受训只有十几岁的Gerald Wadham,二战结束后他居住在伦敦西部的Southall并经营着一家商店和一个酒吧，并于5年前去世。并且这件作品也得到了Gerald Wadham的女儿间接证实。

最后工程公司决定将保留这棵树和上面的漫画，隧道将做出1.1英里改动，绕过这棵树，将来可让人们看到一个保护生态环境有趣的历史见证。
