As the L.A.-based painter makes staggeringly evident, meat is raw organic matter, streaked with stringy sinew and mottled with roseate fat. Her close-up perspectives draw attention to both the grotesquerie of meat eating and the strangely beautiful textures of uncooked flesh. Painstakingly detailed, with impressive old-masterly technique, her slabs of loin and clusters of animal organs are seemingly found compositions and surrogate biomorphic abstractions.........
