Synfig - 2D vector animation software

I found the website of Synfig, a 2D vector animation software. Besides KToon it looks promissing and is a available for Windows and MacOS X too.

I would like to learn more about the animation software, however, I can't get it to work on "Windows Vista Pemeium." There doesn't seem to be a "Service Pack" available for that version of Windows. What should I do.
