Download the easyGIMPkit (german version) and copy all files into
/home/aeggy/.gimp-2.4
Windows user have to copy it to
C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\#YourProfileName\.gimp-2.4
To turn GIMP into a good graphic editor for web development you may install these plugins:
* Save for Web (Windows - Ubuntu Linux)
* UFRaw (Ubuntu Linux package "gimp-ufraw)
* Deskew (Windows and Ubuntu Linux)
* GREYCstoration (Windows and Ubuntu Linux)
* Liquid Rescale (Windows and Ubuntu Linux)
If you like to use GIMP for creating textures for 3D or realtime 3D content check out the article "Pimp the GIMP for 3D". If you can read/ understand german take a look at the german ubuntuusers board, icecold posted there a nice workflow using UFRaw, Gimp and Greycstoration. Visit my post about batch processing too.

cool. Is there an English version?

When I saw 'image_layer_float.scm'
with its functions 'script-fu-dupli-selection-*' and 'script-fu-floating-selection-*', I wondered if you knew that AlT+SHIFT+Dragging with a selection tool drags a new layer that is a copy of the selected pixels (FWIW, CTRL+ALT+Dragging drags a layer that is cut out of the selected pixels)
(The many duplicate functions in that file, which seem to be identical except in name, are also puzzling.)
For future versions, it might be smart to leave pluginrc out, and probably also colorrc -- they are both automatically generated and not at all customizable.

thanks for the feedback. I knew that you can copy selections via keys+dragging but for GUI- and webdesign it isn't a good and accurate workflow.
Thanks for the hints about pluginrc and colorrc i will keep it in mind for the update

When will English version be available? I appreciate your work. I think eventually serious web designers will be able to have more of a choice to consider FOSS thanks to efforts like yours.
